Looks like you could squeeze in a 6,000' east-west strip if the green field on the east side is part of the property.

That was always part of my engine failure flow in the Cherokees, along with simply looking at the fuel gauges. It had to have been something more than that.

Does the airport owner own the surrounding farm fields? Otherwise, there's no way Markham airport property is larger than Buttonville's. I don't follow you..shut down Buttonville and move all the planes to Markham? Who's planes are you suggesting should move to Markham? There's probably 200 planes based at Buttonville. How much can you expand at Markham...another 500' on each end of the runway? Do they even have hangars there? Please...

Fast forward a little more time, and he got hired in Asia flying an A320. He had well under 2,000 hours on small turbine aircraft. Do you think he regrets his decision now? He's doing exceptionally well and is having a great time. I'm glad he's doing well and having a great time. Please thank him f...

I'm sure he appreciates what you're implying in your post. Have you flown with him or taken lessons from him? I'm guessing, no.
Keep in mind some guys are better pilots and teachers at 900 hours than some guys with three times that amount of time.

Engaged with a 'normal' job, got tossed by her a year into working as an instructor. Been 10 years and 4 serious girlfriends later, all of them thinking I'm nuts. Doubt I'll ever get married while working as a pilot and I'm cool with that.

Re: How would you route IFR from CYKZ to CYHM? No pref. rout
I always thought it was funny to see YYZ in a clearance. I could just imagine having to revert to that after a comm failure and crossing directly over Pearson (and Downsview) at 4000ft... the controllers getting all those airliners out of the way of your NORAD C172.... I always thought that too, bu...

If there's a decent chance you won't get in at CYHM, use CYYZ as the alternate, simply because there's an ILS to every runway unlike CYKF.

Re: How would you route IFR from CYKZ to CYHM? No pref. rout
I was trying to stay away from pure GPS routing, just in case of a failure, but of course around here there is always vectoring anyways. I always thought it was funny to see YYZ in a clearance. I could just imagine having to revert to that after a comm failure and crossing directly over Pearson (an...

AC could charter Air Creebec, Air Georgian or others to provide aircraft during a strike at Jazz Air LP. Any pilot operating those aircraft would be scabbing Jazz Air pilots work. Would Jazz fly GGN routes if the GGN guys had gone on strike during their negotiations? It's all AC flying. AC gives it...
