AC Rouge 1693

Hi All…was witness to a very hard bounce and landing on RWY 32 today in CYOW (30Mar24). The aircraft hit and bounced at least 15’ back into the air and it looked they initiated a G/A and then levelled out and then came back down. Hope there were no injuries and the aircraft was OK. As I’m no Airbus ...

Re: Zero Jazz flying(YWG)

The YYC CRJ bidpack for OCT shows only 29 departures out of CYYC for the entire month of October! All the rest of the flying starts with a DH to another base to commence flying duties. The pairings end with a DH home to CYYC. Not a great use of pilots is it Jazz???

Re: Negotiations

I guess you’d have to be at Jazz to understand the very real existential threat we face I would not have expected pilots to be this scared during the largest pilot shortage in the history of aviation. You literally got scared into a yes vote Don’t forget…our pilot rosters are 75% made up of pilots ...

Re: Upcoming Air Canada vote ..

The 2015 contract was necessary to ensure the long term viability of the CPA as we had GGN and SKY breathing down our necks with lower labour costs. With that 2015 contract we were able to entice a lot of tenured, DB pension Jazz guys to leave for AC thereby making Jazz a more competitive to compet...

Re: Sandy Lake Seaplane Service

Liam, My sincere condolences to you and the rest of your family… 🙏🏻 I remember running into your dad several times on the docks in both Deer Lake and Red Lake, ON. I flew a C-206B for Reid’s Resorts (Long-Legged Lake) back in 1979 and always heard great things about your dad. Keep those memories clo...

FYI…I purchased Apple AirTags™️ on Amazon for $32.00ea (4pack $129.00)…put them in every bag I own! Now, I will know where my bag is WITHOUT the usual AC baggage services runaround! Slick operation those AirTags!

Could someone in-the-know please explain what ‘over-seas’ and ‘nav-aid’ pay are for? Are these premiums left-over from the dark ages of flying at AC? thanks

Thanks for the good Sunday morning laughs…spot on I’d say…!!! It’s going to be a sad day if ALL Canadian pilots allow this Mexican adventure to continue and thrive. Re: Air Canada Revises the Terms of its Capacity Purchase Agreement with Chorus Aviation for Regional Flying

Don’t know how this got side-tracked into a discussion about travel benefits but just as an FYI...when our JAZZ crew scheduling department books our DH’s for company operations or we utilize our business profile for booking a banked DH business class seat, all pilots that were hired prior to 2006 ar...

In the completion of a STAR in Canadian airspace I’m just wondering why ATC controllers issue clearances to aircraft that are below STAR published altitudes, especially when aircraft are expected to comply with the speeds/altitudes unless otherwise cancelled? Just curious...with the above direct entry captain course planned for Sept 9th, 2019 does this mean that SKR doesn't have any F/O's that are due or qualified for an upgrade??? Kinda sad if they do indeed have some 3-4 year F/O's just chomping at the bid yet the Company might just past them by...???

They do. There are basically no more memory items. They would've pulled up the QRC then moved on to the longer QRH. The difference between the 200 and 900 is that the 200 has a system to more or less restow the reverser if it comes unlocked IRCC. The 900 doesn't. Just because i don’t know is the QR...
