Re: Air Canada Interviews

Last training plan showed 4, maybe 8 767 RP YYZ and 12-16 EMJ FO YYZ I think. So expect that for July g/s. a/c courses started on the 8th of August.

Re: CHRT Remedy Ruling?

So the union has to protect these individuals under the current collective agreement in which V and K are in, for lack of a better word, violation. The current collective agreement stipulates retirement at 60 and has no articles pertaining to pilots over 60. Nothing regarding GDIP or pairing regs fo...

Apparently another bid is due out in November or December which would most likely show some additional vacancies on top of the 51 from last months bid.

WJA wet leasing a 757 from Finland to do 6 weekly flights between YYC/YEG and Hawaii. Will be a 9 week "Trial" starting in Feb to try and compete with AC and it's 767's.

Johnny767 you are right on the money. All I see in this latest scope blowup is a power struggle within ACPA between the merger and seniority clowns vs. the guys who have moved on. This all happened last year, although much more quietly, over the "yes" vote to the new CA. Anyone of sound mind knows t...

Re: Porters Real reason for existance

I know Georgian was asked to bid on the AC island Q400 flying but did not get it. Have also heard Skyservice business put in a bid as well. Seems AC might be adding another CPA partner. This all relates to the recent ACPA meltdown over scope and the apparent need for imminent changes to the CA as re...

LOU 18 is still in effect, until at least the next contract. Last round of interviews from Jazz left off around the March 2006 DOH. I assume they would start again from scratch though. Surely the first few courses will be guys from a pool from the last round of interviews in 2007, that's how they di...

$52 Million in interest payments in one quarter from the the rescue financing, government handout my ass.

Load factor, revenue and yields up over last year with capacity up nearly 10%, I would say they are managing capacity well.

I am almost 100% certain that Brick Head is not on the age 60 commitee, he made a post here once and the exact same one on the ACPA forum and that name is not one that is on the commitee. So hopefully Ray that isn't the only thing you are wrong about.

Have you looked into how much more your pension will be yet with an extra five years contribution? Ha, yet another bullshit reason to justify this nonsense. I will be 5 years closer to death, 5 less years with my family, 5 more years of contributions instead of withdrawals, 5 more years of WORK, wh...

Re: Rumors of AC hiring soon, any truth?

FO's in Feb are pretty much all blocked at 80+ hrs and the EMJ in YYZ is at 84, so that means some guys will be pushing 90 hr months which leads me to believe hiring might happen this year or early next year, unless of course fly til you die happens and ruins everything.

Re: ACPA Signs

What seems to sail over many of me peers heads about this whole debacle is that by throwing ACPA under the bus like most seem to be doing they are essentially subverting the union and de-legitimizing it. Who would take a union seriously that has essentially received a vote of non confidence from it'...

The guy is a typical Friedmanite union and labour hater, smug and condescending. But he's fat, bald and clearly a douche so who cares. A. Wilson certainly didn't fill me with confidence though, quite unimpressive, as is ACPA by the way.

The Jazz fleet is included in those numbers, AC doesn't have 300+ aircraft. A ridiculous idea. How about starting by paying industry standard rates for things like regional feed, maintenance, and ground handling and dismantling the maximum value ponzi scheme that Milton setup when he spun off the as...

They do it because we let them do it, it's perfectly legal and completely immoral. Legality trumps everything apart from maybe populist anger combined with government embarassment (i.e AIG).
