One of those "kick-starter" campaigns could also be started to maybe even subsidize any of the travel expenses. I'm sure we could all pitch in a little.

Re: Out of Province student applying for College/University

I believe preference is given to Ontario residents, as the province provides funding to each school. Give each school a call just to be sure, and also get your application in on time to increase your odds.

Maybe give the FBO out of YAM a call. If coming from the East Gore Bay and Elliot Lake are pleasant airports with very friendly service as well.

Re: Dangerous Flights Season 2

Gotta be more specific with the airplane repo hate. The first three episodes with popovich were pretty awesome. That man truly has a dream job and it didnt seem tooo staged. The bullshit of the rest of the series with that idiot and his wrestler companion was some of the worst aviation related tele...

Re: Am I starting too late?

I think the previous posters have both hit the nail on the head so far. What I might suggest is the program at Confederation College in Thunder Bay. It runs for two years as opposed to three in the Sault and four at Seneca (if you would prefer the college route over private flight school). Whatever ...

Re: Ice Pilots Season 5 discussion...

Anybody watch tonight's episode? I found it crazy that to ferry the aircraft with the gear issues they purposely left the gear locking pins in place to keep the gear down. What would they have done had an engine failed on departure? I can't imagine the single engine climb on those things would be to...

Re: 208 in hudson bay

Yes it is tragic for the pilot and their family. Landing gear up is a conscious decision, this seems to be a case of someone suffering emotionally in which case their decision was probably not well thought out.

Re: CSeries to fly Sept 16 with Live Streaming Video

Finally loaded a few minutes after my last post...looks great! I thought it was kinda funny how all the airline executives (including Bob Deluce) were saying how quiet it was. I don't doubt that it will be substantially quieter but I wonder if Bob slipped 'em all a $20 to say it  Congrats to BBD!

Re: College/University aviation school advices

Sault College comes out closer to 20k, not sure where the 27k is from. I am a Sault grad and have met others from both Confed, Seneca, and local FTU's. What you will find out is that all schools have benefits and all schools have issues but that your overall experience and what you make of it. Capit...

Re: Flying and Golf

In Sarnia Greenwood Golf Course is on the approach to 33. Course is pretty good but has been hit hard by the Emerald Ash Borer. $37 weekdays for 18 w/cart and lunch (sandwich and a drink) was on the radio last time I was home. Many other great courses around, some pricier (Sawmill, Huron Oaks) and s...
