Rudder, I take it when your union comes to a tentative deal you'll come running on here and post it as well.
You know exactly why you posted this information so quickly. Don't scapegoat your motives.

Re: 10 year agreement with pilots
I would suggest that people on this forum who are privy to contract details to keep this information to yourself! Nothing has been ratified, and it's nobody's business outside of ACPA until the vote. Why do people continue up to spread our business on this forum the moment it becomes available?? +1...

Re: Air Canada Pool
I agree, sounds like a bit of trolling. I understand anything is possible but I highly doubt AC hr would ever state we'll hire you if you pass medical. Seems very unlikely they would do that. The medical is a big part and only valid for 6 months so I can't seem them making potential job offers.

Re: Air Canada Pool
Thanks for explanation. I recall people mentioning no reserve blocks? Does that mean no reserve whatsoever or that reserve days will be split up between the whole roster? Ie. the most senior guy can get stuck with 3 reserve days in his schedule.

Thanks SeaBat. While on the topic, I'm not familiar with socialized bidding system, any chance of explanation of what it entails?

Re: Air Canada Pool
I think I read on a previous post or thread that if you bid Rouge you are frozen there for 2 years before you can bid back to Mainline. But if a new hire starts out there are they still frozen from bidding 320 for 2 years? p.s. I understand this is hypothetical seeing as with mainline 320 being redu...

Re: Air Canada Pool
Shouldn't hiring department know this before they announce to start hiring again? How could they announce a gs only to possibly cx it 2 weeks later. Shouldn't they have info of soon to be released bid?

Re: hiring halter...
Thanks Stig. As you said, everyone has their own opinion and ideas of what is to come but it is nice to see some posts with some form of optimism and I'm sure there are others that would agree. Lets hope the next bid continues to show a need for more pilots, even if it is only a small amount.

Re: hiring halter...
Hey Stig Got a question on your thoughts regarding 787. Might be a question that is impossible to tell but was more so out of curiosity. Someone posted earlier they don't think any new hires will see AC in the next few years, so is it fair to assume the 787 RP position will be staffed by people alre...

Re: hiring halter...
So would AC run a gs for 16 vacancies or would they realistically wait for next bid to see what it holds?

Re: Rouge rosters?
Hard to get a good feel with so few fins in rouge up and running. You will likely end up on the 319 since I expect the 767 to be filled by shrinking mainline positions, and all it currently does is turns to the south out of YYZ. Once there are more of the 319s moved over, I expect there might be th...

Re: Air Canada Pool
Waiting 6 months in pool would be optimistic. There are people in pool that interviewed in Oct. last year, and will likely have to wait till oct nov before the next groundschool even.

Re: Equipment Bid
Just out of curiosity, when is the next equipment bid scheduled to come out for AC? Also, does anyone know whether the crew reductions from the E175 are already included in crew calculations or does that change on the go as Sky Regional takes an aircraft? Thanks for any information and insight. Chee...

Re: Air Canada to trim $50-million in costs
Typical selfish answers from pilots ME ME ME ME ME  I am a bit confused as to how this is a selfish statement? The forum users are 90% pilots, so how is inquiring about the negative ramifications of this news article towards the pilot aspect of it selfish? My statement wasn't meant in a selfi...

Re: First Year Air Canada Pay
Thanks MRP. After the PIT course, is it usually directly into the groundschool after that, or is there something else between PIT and GS? Or is that entirely dependent upon availability and type selected? In other words, do some people have time off before their groundschool or does it usually invol...
