Re: Air Tindi Flight Missing

Amazes how people think this would be such an easy situation that could have been prevented with a turn bank indictor and a altimeter. For anyone that has flown in a situation were you can barely see your wing tip it isn't that easy. Agreed, you also need an airspeed indicator as well as a T&B and ...

Re: Twin otter on the ice

cause the Canadian Military knows more about twin otters then Borek, right AuxBatOn? The military can accept some risks that a civilian operators wouldn’t be allowed or wouldn’t want to accept to accomplish a task. Our risk management processes from an airworthiness point of view are very different...

Re: Dash 8 Down

Wasn't meaning it as a shot. I have a hard time believing both crew would be willing to fly this way. Maybe one was locked out of the cockpit. Or was subdued by the other.

Re: Twin otter on the ice

I have seen pictures of station 60 were the nose is just about ripped off. Borek our Rocky Mountain air could have probably had it patched and ferried in 2 weeks with 3 our 4 guys. by WileyCoyote » Fri Mar 29, 2019 9:51 am From my experience, I think we would be better served by contracting this ser...

Re: Canadian/First Air Merger

Personally I say let them merger. Air Canada (Jazz) tried the Iqaluit route a couple years ago it didn’t last long. Trust me if someone comes in with a cheaper rate the passengers will change just like they did in Yellowknife. Yellowknife had the best of service before Air Canada and West Jet showed...

Re: Twin otter on the ice

I don't know any experienced Twin Otter operators that have abandoned our hired a heavy lift helicopter because of a station 60. Usually within 2 weeks its patched up enough to ferry it out. I hate to say it but this is typical Military not having the experience to operate these aircraft. Not saying...

Re: Air Tindi Flight Missing

Typical AV Canada forum. Speculation and off topic postings. I see no value in this topic as it has gone totally off topic. Can you explain what you are saying? The topic was about an accident, do you think accidents are topics that should not be discussed? Yes the topic is about an accident. What ...

Re: Air Tindi Flight Missing

What exactly do you think you can learn from speculation. You have no idea what direction they were going our what attitude the aircraft was in when it hit the ground. One thing we can all agree on is it hit the ground and killed 2 people. Have to love Arm Chair TSB investigators.

Re: WJ called out

What WestJet did is cheap but not surprising. More of this goes on then people realize. In my opinion the airlines should start charging for Carryon and stop charging for checked bags. Maybe we would be able to get thru security in 5 minutes rather then 30. May actually get back to boarding a 737 in...

I know it’s a bit early but if fatigue was the issue here Canada’s in trouble .
It is way to early to speculate. However unless they flew all night i would think fatigue was not an issue considering they went missing at 09:30

Re: Twin Otter trivia: Hours held by the highest time pilots?

About 10 years ago Lester Powell figured in had in excess of 40,000 on the Twotter. He obviously stopped looking but a guesstimate using an average of hours/years out him well over 40k. You won’t find a nicer fella, consider myself lucky to have had the opportunity to sit in the right seat next to ...

Re: Fed $$$ for First Air

Trust me 5T has had their share of bail outs and government forgivable loans. The most recent fiasco would be allowing 5T to separate from all the Debt owed by NTCL. They are all owned by the same company. NTCL fell and 5T walked away. Do you have any idea how much profit was sucked out of 5T to pr...
