Re: Air Canada CEO summoned to Ottawa over English-only condolence video for LaGuardia crash
On a slightly different topic is it just me or does anyone else think the use of French by ATC in Quebec is a bit of a safety issue? I totally understand the history that has made Quebec a mostly French speaking part of the world but that always seems a bit unsafe to me It is Totally not safe. Amaz...

Re: Air Canada CEO summoned to Ottawa over English-only condolence video for LaGuardia crash
What a crock of Crap. It's been a few years since I have been to Quebec. The French preach Bilingual. Yet you got to most places in Quebec and there is not one bilingual sign in most places. They are mostly in French only. Every time a hear a French safety briefing on a flight i want to go sideways....

Trump just trying to save face. They are standing around either their finger up their butt. Can't run extra machines etc. What a joke glad I am not an American. They should be ashamed and embarrassed by what the Bully is doing down there.

Re: How long is Transport Canada processing time for Class 1 medical
I have been jumping through hoops since June 2025. When i questioned what's going on with my medical i received a registered letter 2 weeks later. First letter was 7 items. I am now at 12 items. Last was submitted over 2 weeks ago. Still no word. My Doctor has spoke to them at least 3 times. She ca...

Re: How long is Transport Canada processing time for Class 1 medical
This invalidated my medical. I agree with FL030 not sure why they don't just ask for everything at once. Whats even more frustrating is they won't give you an explanation why they are asking for the next test. It's like we don't have to have a valid reason. As i mentioned earlier i know I am not the...

Re: Class 1 Medical & Mental Health
I am not sure what is going on at Transport Canada. I am going thru a series of tests etc with absolutely NO reason. I personally know 7 people who have had issues with them over the last year.
I would love to know how many others are having issues with their Medical.

Re: Canadian North Layoffs
A study in why Canadian aviation can’t rely on commodity prices and one-time projects. Like when 5T flew all through covid and never laid off any pilots? Some commodities are necessary at all times. They didn't lay anyone off because the government covered the wages in SOME industries. To be clear ...

That’s your best comeback? As the saying goes; “the facts don’t care about your feelings.” Hats off to CUPE as you have completely tricked the public into sympathy with the bs about unpaid work. Along with the gender / alphabet people nonsense. I am all for if you’re in the aircraft you should get ...

Could be as simple as down turn in people traveling to the USA. Both West jet and Air Canada are slashing routes right now due to Canadians rebelling.

Hi there, I'm about a month away from wrapping up my Multi and group 1 IFR and just had Air Tindi stop by the school last night for a presentation. Basically gave us the run down of what it's like living and flying in Yellowknife and north. They mentioned that they have a "Part-Time First Officer" ...

Re: Canadian North Sold to EIC
Maybe Air Canada and West Jet will step in and offer cheap fares like they did in YZF. Once they eliminate the local airlines they will increase the rates to higher than Canadian north. Then everyone can get jerked around just like the YZF route with both majors. From what i am told they continually...

The comment was probably like every small carrier. Sick of being a training school for the Larger airlines.
Regardless Harolds are good people and i am sure the accident last year is eating them up. No matter who was at fault.
Sad to see another Ma and Pop shop fold up.

Re: Metro 3 ( dangerous as they say it is )
I mean to say that they lack experience. What does a typical Metro FO have today? 250 hours? Not even enough PIC to get PICUS. What does a typical Metro captain have? 1500 hours? Maybe less if it's run 703 or cargo? So an FO that doesn't know what he doesn't know and is mostly along for the ride; an...

Re: Metro 3 ( dangerous as they say it is )
I spoke with a young guy years back that was an RCAF pilot. He left the military and went to the commercial side. He said there is one thing that compares the Metro to a fighter jet. You CANNOT let the plane get ahead of you it will kill you. The beauty of the F18 is you can eject. You have to ride ...

The lake at the Lac De Gras winter road camp is runs North South. I am thinking the hit the hill on the North end. You can google earth 64.25'06.02N 110.06'36.11w. That will show you the area.

Don't get me wrong i have nothing but respect for these guys. Let's not forget they picked this job and get trained and paid to do it.
