Re: Bad day for Blackcomb Helicopters
Yes I think it was FCC. Happened monday, I was out sledding and listening to their channel on my radio and they reported a code H which I am guessing means a crash. Some other buddies that were up Brandywine took some pics. Everyone was OK. Sounds like they were helisking.

Sounds like this happened Monday Feb 24. Weather was pretty crappy that day but I don't know any details. Happened up Brandywine near Whistler. https://scontent.fcxh3-1.fna.fbcdn.net/v/t1.0-9/87828837_10158186519484747_4531420716117000192_n.jpg?_nc_cat=101&_nc_sid=ca434c&_nc_eui2=AeE-UjMNNoFLbp8gh4n...

The prop looks interesting. I wonder if it is has an electric motor for pitch change like MT, looks like hartzel blades.

At 265 lbs for 750HP they can put a few batteries in. What do those radials + 2 hrs fuel weigh?

I think the closest you will get in a homebuilt is a Murphy Moose 3500lbs gross.Krazer12 wrote:Is there a home build kit for the de Havilland DHC-3 Otter? Are there any other planes with similar fuselage dimensions that can be home build kits?

I am looking at the QFR as well. Did you get them and if so what do you think of them. Have you tried the cell phone adapter?
