Re: Beginning of Transat wave?

I suggest some of you do some research on the financial health of TS (cash flow particularly). TS is in a restructuring phase and trying to build a solid base for a new vision. In the mean time, at the transportation department, we all keep trucking along as we wait for the first 321LR to arrive an...

That is pretty incredible, my only question that arises from this is if corporate operators use “RP’s” / bunks?

Pretty sure it would be an invasion of privacy and the lawsuit you could follow up with would let you retire early

IF WJ management came out and brought swoop under the WAWACON of the new mainline contract I bet they could regain buy in and “culture” pretty much overnight

Re: Jazz Payscale Updated 2019

Keep justifying the shittiest starting FO wage in the country anyway you want but Calm Air has been hiring 250 hour FO’s and they start at $49/hr with a 80 hour min guarantee, great per diems, great top rates. You sold out the industry for starting wages for the next 20 years.

Re: Jazz Payscale Updated 2019

what I can't figure out is why everyone thinks this contract is recession proof, everyone keeps mentioning security / how much they will make in 2035... If history is any lesson this contract will be revisited in some round of concessionary bargaining before 2035 ever hits.

Re: 7 Wrong Reasons for Wanting to Become a Pilot

#1 Partially correct, it seems like 2 kinds of people get into aviation a) for the love of flying and have a passion about it or; b) people who thought it would be cool and pay a bunch. I can't tell you how many of the latter I've seen get washed out or discouraged and quit to find a different indus...

Re: Think carefully before you make your next move

So everyone is so worried about Sky regional now... their STARTING FO pay is 20% higher than this Jazz new deal AND they just unionized so I bet they won’t be accepting lower pay. Let that sink in for a second.

Re: Think carefully before you make your next move

Only a little over 17 years ago we weren’t sure if the world was going to melt down because no one knew if the computers programmed could handle the year 2000. The iPhone was over 5 years away from being invented 9/11 was very very fresh in everyone’s mind The average house price in Canada was a lit...

Re: Think carefully before you make your next move

Haven’t posted in a VERY long time. I’m doing so because of my belief that we need to vote YES. Are we worth more? Yes. Is it worth gambling my pension, my accrued seniority, my career stability. No. In the end, as a 13 yr Jazz pilot, I’m paid fairly, I’ve been afforded a great quality of life and ...

If this doesnt pass, Jazz will be in trouble.
This is the attitude of a beaten down wife, stand up for yourselves.

If you think it is a fair deal vote yes
If you don’t like it vote no

Just don’t vote out of fear because then you play right into managements hand.

Re: Think carefully before you make your next move

Honest question, if they want to shut down Jazz it’s not like all the flying they do won’t have to be done by someone, with more jobs that Pilots why not try call their bluff and vote it down. If the company didn’t think they were getting one hell of a good deal why would they be trying to lock you ...

What does this mean to us in the pool waiting for ground schools? Do we get bumped for ggn pilots coming in without going through the hiring process?
my guess would be yes, which you can't possibly be mad at considering they are going to be out of work.
