Re: Write Tony Clement re: D-Jet

We'd get better value for money if the government invested in engineering schools which spin off all manner of small companies that seem to do quite well. We should put money into getting our kids really well educated so that they can compete with the kids in Asia because we sure as heck won't win ...

The CBC obviously has skewed that site. They claim the Liberals are neutral on government funded daycare yet it was the Liberals who pushed the idea of government funded day care as opposed to the Conservative child care benefit. That issue should have pushed the Liberals even further left. Remember...

uh put me down for "wouldn't have landed" (given the info we have). some airports (TUS, EWR, RDU off the top of my head) have areas on the ground where comms can be masked/attenuated...probably not a good idea to start treating it like an uncontrolled aerodrome just because you don't get a reply fr...

Re: Violence in Hockey

The NFL and CFL have taken a number of steps to prevent player injury. Football at it's very root has a more violent core to the game. It amazes me how few all out brawls actually take place on the grid iron. Now I'm not saying they don't happen because they absolutely do however it is usually met w...

I thought fuel prices were subsidized in the north? I recall buying av gas in Iqaluit for about $1/liter when prices were considerably higher in the south. This was about 2 or 3 years ago.

Hi all, I hope the following emptying of my heart does not come out as sucking up – more of an appreciative comment. It’s not strictly relating to aviation but I think it pertains pretty well to aviation. You know that saying “mom always knows best”? I’ve come to the realization that it’s probably ...

Re: This IS An AVIATION Web Site

No right to opinions but those approved by 'superiors'? Well, that doesn't seem so great to me. It takes a special kind of arrogance to believe that one’s opinions are so correct that acknowledging other perspectives grants those perspectives more air time than they deserve. That’s not the way I ro...

You guys can't even knock this crap off in a thread about why you had your forum taken away! When I'm browsing in a store and I see merchandise that doesn't interest me, I walk by it and focus instead on what I'm interested in. I don't see why a web site like this would be treated any differently. Don't like the cop threads? DON'T click on them. Don't like a user? Make them a 'foe'. Why is...

A mexican friend of mine was given the french version of the test and passed it despite not knowing french.

Granted there are a number of similarities between spanish and french but that is still ridiculous.

Re: Navajo (310) question

Another factor to keep in mind is cost. From my experience 3 blade props are actually cheaper compared to the 2 blade variety due to supply and demand. Most 310's have been phased to the three blade design and 2 blade parts can be hard to come by thus the 2 blade props can be more expensive. From wh...

Who dispatched that airplane for a single pilot IFR flight, without an auto-pilot on it? I know that at keystoned, it's pilot self dispatch, however, question is, who released this airplane from maintenance (twin piston at keystone is a single pilot IFR operation, not two crew, hence the birds need...
