Re: JetBlue's coming North
Maybe it's time to propose to the US that Canada would drop cabbotage laws in exchange for green cards or work permits for Canadian pilots. Win-win  Ha, Canadian airlines would go tits up in a heartbeat without their endless supply of cheap labor. Eliminating cabotage would just be comic o...

Re: Investing strategies for the commercial pilot?
I'll second what airways said except for this. Mortgage rates are dirt cheap nowadays. I'm seeing rates in the mid 1% range. They are unlikely to go up anytime soon. You should invest any extra money you have allocated for additional mortgage payments. Even a conservative 60/40 portfolio will give ...

Re: Flair Airlines - expansion plan?
All very good points above and I agree with double edged sword. Don't get me wrong, there is a calculated risk involved with what they are doing, but the rewards for it being successful are quite huge. They are trying to time the expansion with the mass vaccination roll out by summer. Keep in mind,...

You're right, it is a business. Stop pretending like the airlines are a socialized state entity... only when things are bad, of course. It’s a business who’s goal is to make money!

Re: Lufthansa May file for bankruptcy
The general public has seen airline profits increase while their legroom has decreased, and while they've had to fork over additional cash for baggage fees, fuel surcharges and meals. The general public is quasi aware of the shenanigans the current duopoly in Canada has been pulling. They are oppose...

Seniority: WestJet/Swoop are common employer, you would be BOTL. Encore seniority currently does not factor on WestJet lists ( hopefully fixed soon ) This should be the single biggest concern for anyone considering going to WestJet "OTS", by far! Huge dice roll. I'm curious, when was the most junio...

When are passengers going to want to get back on that plane? That's the real question. As someone else said, by the time the plane returns to service people will have moved on to the next Facebook crisis. Also if the airlines make Max seats $25 cheaper than other types they’ll fill the plane Swoop ...
