Re: F-35 looking more like white elephant
so if we don't have anything to worry about? why don't we just buy them a fleet of cessnas so they can say they're flying and call it a day?

Re: Future AME Discouraged
and yet I haven't noticed an increase in accidents due to maintenance.. the pilots still seem to be the weakest link..
maybe, pat richard, being an AME just isn't as hard as your ego has led you to believe.

Re: The importance of having a degree
These threads always seem to find a place for those who need to convince themselves that school isn't necessary. To answer the actual question I'll chip in that no, it's not necessary. In fact the requirements to be a commercial pilot in Canada are pathetically basic. What are there, 3 tests? And h...

Re: Should the government be funding flight training at all?
This conversation should be more about the economics of subsidized flight training, not a pissing match between FTU guys and college guys. I think most would agree that the training circumstances are somewhat irrelevant, and there are great pilots from both categories. I don't see this as a pissing...

Re: Should the government be funding flight training at all?
Buddy, this has nothing to do with gauging the ability of potential pilots. Any pilot should be able to earn high enough grades to get accepted to structured programs. As stated before it is not hard at all! I already explained to you why bottle necking fresh CPL`s makes sense. The question is how ...

Re: Should the government be funding flight training at all?
The first answer you will receive. Your welcome to apply to any subsidized program or the military where you will even receive pay you while you train! No structured program kids ever start any higher then FTU guys. I never heard a case of special treatment. EVER! Aviation industry is still mostly ...

Should the government be funding flight training at all?
All this elitist talk of restricting CPL training to certain government chosen institutions got me thinking... as an FTU kinda guy, why should I have to pay for my flight training, and somebody elses? I mean, I work hard to pay personally for every penny of my flight training, it isn't easy, it is v...

Re: Restrict Flight Training to Gov, funded programs?
your solution does nothing to guarantee better pilots, just less of them. Watering down the talent pool to ensure the weak survive is not the best route to take when it comes to any safety oriented profession.

Re: Restrict Flight Training to Gov, funded programs?
Good dig RS I showed his thread to my cousin who is a doctor and she is outright appalled that she is being compared with pilots. Her first comment was "your and you're are two completely different words" Her second comment was, "college is not the same as university" and her third was "I have five ...

Re: Restrict Flight Training to Gov, funded programs?
what im reading is that it is too hard for you and you want the government to make it easier.... when the going get tough, the tough get going.. or they say they are tough and bitch about how tough it is. in your position you should be spending your time competing for your first gig, not disrespecti...

even a bus driver can change a tire.. these college guys would probably end up with a rearranged face given their best try.

Re: Why are protestors treated worse than murderers?
A murderer is arrested, read his full rights, given a lawyer ASAP, brought before judge the next day, maybe even given bail if the case is weak. He is kept in his own cell. He is given his own guards and bulletproof vest to protect him on the way to the courthouse. He is given a full trial. Even an...
