Re: Hiring off the street any time soon?

The troll has been fed. Enough is enough. Lets ignore him.

Insulting and denigrating your ALPA sisters and brothers, and pissing on the help a flight crew requires after an emergency crossed a line.

I’m glad I’ll never share a flight deck with you.

Go away please.

Then inform the passengers that evacuation will begin when the engines have been shut down. Keep the passengers in the information loop. The Sewol passengers were told to return to their cabins and wait for instructions. Unfortunately the capsize trapped some 300 victims. Yes, after watching the mu...

BANG ON!!! :prayer:

No matter who/what tries to spin things, the reality is a true eye-opener.

But this is all academic, as no WJ pilots are leaving to AC.

Re: FMS Question

Good question. I’ve thought the same. Perhaps because a QWERTY takes up more lateral space...the ABCDEF is more logical for a “box” format.

Either way I’m still slow as a single-finger-puncher-typer.

Re: Paternity Leave/ Reduced block

HI stratosphere...I can’t answer all your questions, I haven’t been at Jazz for a few years But, I had my first born son there. I took 6 weeks pat leave. I can’t recall when your leave benefits kick in, perhaps it is 6 months. First, call your CP. explain your situation and see what the options are....

Re: 737s across the pond

There are about 8 -700s that are capable of flying the NAT tracks...CPDLC, ADS-B, 8.33kHz VHF are the requirements.

All of the NGs are certified for 180 ETOPS.

Re: Recruitment Personnel List

Justwanttofly, Have you tried calling the companies you are interested in directly, and politely introducing yourself as an interested applicant wanting to address your application to the proper person? You may find more success that way, rather than relying on an aviation forum to do the work for y...

Re: Inquiring Diamond Flight Centre London

The same reason why I am afraid of radios. :( :smt017 Not sure what that means. Are you being sarcastic? Or is it a genuine fear of talking on the phone or radio? If the latter, that is likely going to impact any training you wish to do. A pilot is required to talk on the radio. A lot. You progress...

Re: Inquiring Diamond Flight Centre London

It certainly is! I can't comment on how DFC London compares rate/fleet wise to other schools, but I can say it is an all-new Diamond fleet. DA20 C1s, DA40s, and DA42s. Most aircraft are equipped with the Garmin G1000 or G500 glass cockpits. 1 Level 5 FTD for the DA42, as well as 3 Level 2 FTDs for s...

Re: New Hire Class January 2014?

The first class looks to be all 250 hour college grads. Apparently at least 6 from Seneca alone. Is this indicative of Jazz's future hiring? Do you have a source on this AllClutch? I do know the Seneca-Jazz cadet partnership is a thing, and there will be a handful of grads each year, but I am very ...

Do you have the winter kit on it? Intake baffles and cover for the rear cowling opening make a huge difference.

Re: Cost Index

CI is a ratio of the cost of flying time to the cost of fuel. It is determined by dividing the dollar cost per hour of operating expense of the aircraft, excluding fuel, by the cost of fuel in cents per pound or dollars per kg. the lower the CI the slower the speed for better fuel savings. The high...
