Re: Is it really Prist
I would hazard a guess that .125% water/urea mix will not cause a flameout unless you fuel the night before and the DEF settles to the bottom of your tank where the pickup is. I would bet that other aircraft have been fuelled with DEF instead of FSII but they departed quickly enough that the DEF did...

Re: PA-34 RTO @ YPK-What happened
There was vertical low-level wind shear concentrated exactly at the centre of the runway, that had no effect on the wind detection equipment at the airport, but somehow affected a weather station at a factory miles away. Oh, and it was detectable at the stations in Hope, while is even further away ...

Re: Missing airplane on flight from Penticton to Edmonton
In that area, with winds comparable to what have been posted here, I've had a lightly loaded sr22 turbo firewalled and still descending at 1500 feet per minute. That experience would have been a lot less fun in a 200hp Mooney.
Does anyone have the ability to post the GFA from that day?

Re: Flying with Technical Logs
If your tech logs are destroyed in an aircraft accident, you're probably not going to be in any condition to care about a CAR's violation

I think I would rather be a passenger in a 421 with a 5000 hour skipper than a conquest with a 2000 hour one.

Re: Aerobatics in a Champ
Taking one of these old girls out for an aerobatic pounding is like taking your grandmother to a sex club for a wild night with a hundred guys. You can do it, I suppose, but it's kind of weird, and you have to wonder if the old girl is really up to it. Probably the best analagy I've heard on these ...
