Re: Career advice and medical issues
I'd get the medical first before making any big moves. Renewing it isn't hard or expensive. As for jobs, I would suggest finding a job that you enjoy, pays well and can give you a flexible schedule. You'll want to be able to save enough money so you can complete your training with the least delay an...

Re: Flight Time Interpretation
" air time means, with respect to keeping technical records, the time from the moment an aircraft leaves the surface until it comes into contact with the surface at the next point of landing; (temps dans les airs)" " flight time means the time from the moment an aircraft first moves under its own ...

Re: Flight Time Interpretation
I would say yes as per the CARs, but I think it would depend on the circumstance. Personally if I started a 172, taxied for 5min, then returned due to weather, no I wouldn't log that. I think it would be trivial to log 10 min unless you want a record of the "flight" for one reason or another. Pictur...

Re: Any Sunwing pilots out there?
I've worked the ramp with Sunwing pilots and some of the guys work in Canada seasonally.
The two pilots I talked with are both from England and work here during the slow winter season.
So I'm not too sure how many you will find lurking around on AvCanada this time of year.
Good luck

Quick conversion question
Will employers in the US require unrestricted CPL's?
If I converted my Canadian CPL to an FAA CPL with the footnote "valid with Canadian CPL".
Thanks

Re: University Degree vs College Aviation Diploma
Instead of looking for a degree in business, or math or whatever; look for a degree/education that can aid you in your aviation pursuit. Take some meteorology classes or get a degree in meteorology. If you're going to be flying through the weather, why not learn a bit more about it. Just a suggestio...

Talking to employers
Hello everyone, I'm looking for some opinions from people who have been employers or anyone with relevant information. I'm looking to get my MIFR in a couple of months, but I'm holding back from job searching because I have a gut feeling that employers don't want to hear "I'll have this rating in x ...

Re: Restrict Flight Training to Gov, funded programs?
1. Transport Canada standards on issuing a CPL are very low. Same goes for a PPL. Its a joke, anyone could pass it. FTU will not care if the student only meets minimum standards, paying customer right? Government subsided programs are mandated to meet much higher standards. In most cases double of ...
