Re: Flight Benefits at Air Transat for pilots and their families
Do not waste too much time listening clowns like Mach08. The reality is that the job at Transat is superb. We have an excellent lifestyle (sure it always sucks the first years at every airline) but we are extremely well treated. Top class hotels everywhere; nice layovers in Europe and in nice all in...

Re: 2023 Q3 results
Glad to see things turning around. Had their been any talk of how the PW1100 recall is going to effect AT? According to the Q3 investors call, the engine issues are not a concern until 2025. They are currently working with PW/RTX regarding if and how many. Overall encouraging results, congrats to t...

Re: Are there a lot of shills at Transat?
Literally thepoors trolling on yet another handle. The more he and others whine about it, the more I see the benefit of it, keeping the poor attitude "pilots" away. Please drone on about it some more. Advocating for better wawcon and calling out ridiculous bonds = trolling. Licking management boots...

Re: BEWARE $30,000 BOND FOR 3 YRS
I am not pro bond at all and I agree that it should be removed. However most pilots who resigned in the last few months (about 50) went to AC and were almost all still doing their initial training: they don’t have to pay the bond in this case. Most are less than 30 yo; they haven’t had the chance to...

Re: BEWARE $30,000 BOND FOR 3 YRS
if the lifestyle is so amazing and the company is so great, then why do they need a bond to trap people from leaving?.. I'm not following the logic. Lifestyle is amazing; I like working 12 days per month: please bond me :prayer: Excellent. It comes with an 80% paycut though. Still interested? ;) An...

Re: Air Canada vs Air Transat
From a financial standpoint AC is an absolute and utter no-brainer at any age. 1 year to 200k+ NB captain. Pension contibutions are a lot better at AC, and deductions are much lower so take-home is higher. The only advantage at Transat is that you'll never do 4 leg a day NB flying, you work maybe 2...

Re: Should I Go Back?
Was wondering if any of you went into this career in your late 20s and gave up a high paying job for it? I am 27 years old making $120,000 in corporate sales selling tech but I have always wanted to become a pilot ever since I was 12. I actually went and got my PPL in 2015 but haven't flown since. ...

Essentially every major airline worldwide and many smaller ones. that's pretty neat. which means it is pretty much covering every corner of the world ,thank you for your reply, cheers :D And most importantly at Air Transat you will get enough days OFF to use your travel benefit, it looks like that w...

Just passing by - had a lunch today with a good friend who is FO at Air France, year 2: made 11000k€ net this month (includes overtime - basic is 6900€ net/month).

Re: Is AC considered a Legacy Airline anymore?
The contract will be renegotiated this autumn. I’m curious who brings up flat pay first? The pilots want it eliminated, but if AC does as well, it will be an interesting play. The question is how many pilots want it to be eliminated? Was talking last year to a friend who was still on flat pay; he w...

Re: Is Onex sniffing around?
The question remains over the value of the deal for WestJet and Onex. Although overnight Onex will have the true national airline that they have wanted for over two decades Ah yes, the "true national airline" that gives the middle finger to half of the country. It's a great business strategy. There...

Re: Is Onex sniffing around?
I can't see the value for Onex, unless a sweetheart deal is reached to significantly reduce the approximately $1.7 Billion in debt that Transat carries. Do you really think a corporation that buys another corporation does it only when it’s debt free ? There are no airline debt free. AC has many bil...

Re: 321 YYZ
What’s the experience level in the ground schools so far? Assuming a fresh ATPL at 1600TT with 600 of that being 705 FO time would still be a tad low? They are talking about cadets so send your resume; you will definitely get a call. We are short on pilots, many get a fresh PPC (or are in the proce...

Re: The Air Canada OTS thread
Haven’t updated my application for years but been called twice for an interview and a starting date right away in december. Must be desperate I guess. Asked the recruiter if they offer at least +250k/year working max 10 days per month for experienced pilots; why leave a job for less…but it looks lik...
