Re: The Air Canada OTS thread

PFO email received, 6 weeks and a few days after the interview. What's the consensus on the PFO email? Are you completely SOL? Do they just put you in a pool and pick from as necessary? Allowed to re-apply? Anybody know anyone that got a PFO and then successfully got hired later on? Told I can re-a...

No word yet? I interviewed in early March and waiting patiently....
Yep still waiting also. 4 weeks today

If you’ve passed the 4 week mark after interviewing that’s usually a good sign.
Sure hope so!

Hey guys,
I have a short question for those in the know... Has the selection process changed recently? No online interview, just online tests and then the personal interview and medical?
Cheers!
That's all there was, plus a psych eval before or after interview. 330ish questions

I interviewed with 4000TT, 2000MPIC, 400 PIC(Q400) and an aviation diploma. I emailed the recruiter about 2 weeks ago asking for an update and was told that my application was still under process. They called my references last week and I had an offer on Friday.
Awesome, thanks!

Thanks for the post, congrats!

Can I ask what kind of experience you have? And is this the first communication with AC after your interview at the end of January?

Re: The Air Canada OTS thread

Purely a WAG, but I suspect there will be a bit of a slow down as the fleet and crews get shuffled around. With that in mind, eventually the plane will be back flying and our crewing deficit and fin acceptance will necessitate continued hiring. The plan before all this was classes of 30-40 every 2-...

If you know some IFR stuff, and basic knowledge in the AIM. You shouldn't need 6 weeks. The IATRA is really easy! Just study the aerocourse for one day solid. And you should be in the 80's easily. The AIM is your friend. Really a no brainer. The Samra and Saron were a little tougher, exactly the sam...

Have you considered a college? I can only recommend Confederation college in Thunder Bay. Paid 25k for a two year program with living expenses. Cpl and float rating. In my opinion it was great instruction.. And fun times.

Just something to think about

+1

For a guy straight out of college to get into a 185 or 206 (preferably on floats) is a lot of fun, and a lot of learning.. Definitely the best fun i have ever had.

Yep.. Good headlights and a sleeping bag are things I had to use on my road trips. Things get real dark.. And I've had to sleep in my car for a few hours on several occasions. Good luck on the journey, I had a great couple of road trips. From Onterrible all the way to the very west coast of Canada. ...
