Re: CRJ Start Up Rumours...
Saw a CRJ cargo bird in Nairobi Jomo Kenyatta , Kenya, about 2 months ago. They had just hopped in from a short runway (Wilson for those familiar with Nairobi) and told apron control they wanted 14K fuel - not sure where they were headed/we departed before them.
That plane is...

Re: New Developments at YYC

I for one would like to applaud the efforts of ATC in YYC. Everyone keep up the good work! I personally will do my best to help out when asked. Just out of curiosity, where is the center control room? I wouldn't mind a visit.

Re: Lay's chips service ceiling: 10000ft MSL.

The biggest variable is the size of the bag. The large bags blow up earlier (~5-6000FT) than the smaller ones. I've had the snack size ones last up to 12000FT!!

Re: Question for Porter folks

It has been posted a few times in the gen forum but you are allowed to taxi in after landing if the vis is below the RVOP/LVOP limits. As for them taxiing out and leaving again while the vis was that low, I'm pretty sure that's not legal. It's sad that the people who write you up (Navcan) don't know...

Pilot bases for the C-208 are Hamilton and Halifax." I guess if you read this paragraph they are looking...

I think the ad says that they are looking for 1900 FO's and 208 Captains, not 1900 Captains.

I've owned an Avcomm AC-900 for about 10 years now and I have never had any problems with it. I am thinking of stepping up to an ANC headset and Avcomm will definately be my first choice. Not to say the DC headsets aren't very good. P.S. I don't remeber how many times the PTT button on the Avcomm's ...

I have the same headset and I second what chop&drop said. It's one of the knobs on the side of the headset. One is for volume and the other will turn and nothing will happen until it clicks the you should have two working speakers.

Here you go, straight from the book:

Landing gear cycles (1 up - 1 down) are limited to one every 5 minutes for a total of 6 cycles followed by a 15 minute cool-down period.

In my AFM it's on page 2-12 in the Limitations section. Hope this helps.
