Re: New Pilot owns plane looking for suggestions.
Kejidog, You asked a few posts back about fuel at Moncton at the school. I have stopped there a few times and YES , they have 100LL there at a reasonable price. No landing fees. Just pull up to the pump by the school...self serve...pull out the credit card. They have always been friendly and helpful...

Re: Ontario To NFLD
There are active COPA flights in St John's (97) and Exploits Valley -CCP2 ( flt195) . I still have 3 barrels of 100LL for visitors at Exploits (sold my airplane) and am probably the cheapest on the Island at $2.75 a liter. At flt 195 , we have tie downs ...deliver fuel ..can provide courtesy transpo...

A review of my logbook shows one flight in "942"...in May 25, 1970...5.2 hours, a NAV trip at ANS CFB Winnipeg Does not quite jive with your data moose, at you say she was rebranded shortly after that and she was not supposed to be in Winnipeg then. Not sure if same airframe. My logbook is full of t...

Re: Gen av in Newfoundland
If you are serious about flying in the St John's area, contact COPA Flt 97 members...they are very active there and can answer all your questions. They have a Facebook site you can check out. There are several Hangars at Harbor Grace and active pilots there, it is a grass strip. Hangarage on the isla...

Re: Gen av in Newfoundland
There is Gen Aviation in NL..... Check out COPA Flights 97 in St Johns and 195 in Central. AV gas is expensive and limited....it really helps if you can burn Mogas. I buy 100ll in bulk and store and can go anywhere in NL and return with full tanks ( From Central) It is agreed that weather on the Ava...

Re: Info on St Pierre and Miquelon
Pilotdar, Are you on floats or wheels? There is a new COPA flight , Flight 195 at Exploits Valley Airport, CCP2, good Mogas available. Loaner vehicle and accommodations as well for visiting COPA members. With a bit of notice of requirements , we could probably help with Avgas. Fogo Island is a must....

WESTJET PILOT FATIGUE
To add to WestJet's woes....They are in the news again this morning.....this time it is about pilot fatigue....a "former pilot " who quit because of working conditions speaks out. The report does say the working conditions were within Canadian rules ...BUT Canadian rules are some of the worst in the...

This is the lead story on "The National" tonight.....while it is not a fact....I do not believe WestJet's nightmare is going to go away any time soon. Apparently 17000 have signed a petition for Greg to resign.

Re: Cessna 337 Ditching
A different camera angle shot, on the news this morning and just now, showed he had shut down the front engine and the prop was almost horizontal...out of the way. The touch down was smooth with a small skip....it looked like he could have powered right on into shore on the rear engine. The airplane...

http://www.staradvertiser.com/breaking-news/pilot-ditches-small-plane-off-lagoon-drive/ A Cessna 337 ditches after a landing gear problem. 5x5: I did not say that the Elite is not worth buying.....I was saying that given the choice between an Elite and a Rebel...it was suggested to me to get a Rebel.....That was several years ago and I cannot remember the exact reasons now and doubt I still have my notes. I would have to research again...

Re: I'm thinking about building a Murphy Elite or Rebel
Greg61 I own a c185 on floats and was nervous at first flying it because it was so small...( Previous a/c was Ea330) My son"s father-in-law has a Murphy rebel on murphy floats that he built and it was 3 years before I would get in it. Well I loved the aircraft....limited load on floats..more space t...

Re: Floatplane in high winds/heavy waves
My limit for my 185 on wip 3730s is 18-20" trough to crest....max 20 kts gusting
I find it hard enough turning out of wind at that wind speed.
Note: My private airplane..MY MAINTENANCE...A new engine mount and bushings installed =12000.00-13000.00
