Re: East Coast Airways

They don't have a spare crew to send out to Halifax to pick up the plane. You'd think the lessor could at least use the East Coast crews to ferry the airplane back to Alberta.

Re: Pilot career reality video

Wow, Thanks, Robby. I'm going off to sulk miserably now. Chill man, I enjoyed it, thought it was quite funny! I especially would've liked to show it to that flight instructor dude I got into a pissing match here about a week or two ago whose name I can't remember. He'll figure it out one of these d...

Not sure if it has been confirmed, but they certainly aren't flying out of YHZ. Curious if any East Coast Air pilots can clarify this.

Re: East Coast Airways

The last post seemed more positive. Give the public good service and do lots of advertising. Keep the boys and girls employed. Things looking tough for the boys. They haven't been flying at all in the last week. Hopefully they can pull it out. While I'd like to see "the boys" employed, I think they...

Any PFO's yet?

A couple mates of mine just interviewed and one was hired.

Even if you are successful, it takes a LLLOOONNNGGG time for them to get back to you. Sometimes 2-3 months.

Re: Is Niagara Air Tours still open?

I remember their operation quite well. I was dating a well off lady and living in Toronto, and one of our dates, we did the helo tour of Niagara Falls. $pectacular experience. The guys flying the helos were quite nice, this was before I got into aviation and one gave me an excellent briefing on the ...

Re: Heathrow high tech snow removal

I don't think there are many countries in the world that do snow removal and deicing at airports better than we do here in Canada. Funny thing, about two weeks ago, I was talking to a lady who works on the accounting side of my job. She was telling me what we spent on deice fluid last year, and how ...

Do you have a deathwish? Flying old USSR equipment anywhere is dangerous. There's a reason why Aeroflot flies Boeings and Airbuses!

Here is another East Coast Air article, this one on the CBC website: http://www.cbc.ca/canada/nova-scotia/story/2010/11/30/pei-east-coast-airways-launch-584.html#socialcomments It is worth reading especially because of the comments attached to it. Here is just one of them, posted yesterday at 9:58 P...

Re: East Coast Airways

So how was Day 1?? I don't know if they are operating yet. I passed through YHZ last week and did not notice any East Coast Air presence, airplanes, ground equipment, or even ticket counters. But I found this article online in the CB Post: http://www.capebretonpost.com/Business/2010-11-30/article-2...

The delays do not instill confidence in the consumer.
No problem.

I think this guy says it best, regarding East Coast Airlines:

Re: East Coast Airways

Soooo...........how have the initial loads been thus far? Not very good. But that is because they haven't been flying (see article, pasted below) My advice to all East Coast Airlines job seekers is to hold off until the company gets certified and gets an operational track record. Give them 4-6 mont...

Re: East Coast Airways

No matter how good your game plan is if you cannot execute the plays then the team loses. With the Christmas rush just around the corner I would bet most people will book on an established carrier. This will indeed have a big impact on expected revenues of this Upstart. The sad part is.........old ...

How many duty hours did he put in to log those 42,000 hours? I'd suspect you could almost double it.

All's been pretty quiet on CanJet hiring news. I'm assuming they're bringing in Germans again for the winter season (and unfortunately not hiring any Canadians). Any intel? jtf Heard from an FA that they weren't going to be going with TUI and the Germans again, but that they would be taking in pilo...
