Re: Best aircraft for 1 day pairings?

What YYZ base narrow body has the most 1 day pairings available? Is it possible to get any 1 day pairings with low seniority? Does Rouge have the most 1 day Caribbean pairings? On average Rouge is 50% and the other NB is 30% for day turns out of YYZ. Rouge has the most Carribean turns but the deep ...

Re: Back into flying

If you're over 5 years, I guess you need to write the PSTR and do a flight review with an instructor. That would be the first step.

Re: Pilot Employment Beyond Age 65

Jazz has status pay. So if the 65 year old E175 and CRJ Captains in YYZ and YUL want to do a full initial course to go back on the Dash8-400 to keep flying(as crazy as that sounds to me) I guess at least they won’t be losing any pay. But at AC, the vast, vast majority of age 65 pilots are widebody ...

Re: WestJet Sunwing merger and seniority

Will SWG pilots make more money at WJ ? A full block at SWG with turns is about 9 to 10 days. So if you accept to work an extra 3 to 5 days you can double your month. So I am not sure one will make necessarily more money at WJ. But maybe one makes a lot of OT at WJ ? I don't know. Also nobody knows ...

Re: Being a Proficient Pilot

Conditions permitting, disconnect everything at 280 and hand fly it to the ground, it's fun ! :) And severely increase the work load for the other pilot…… He did say, Conditions permitting. Would I do this into YYZ, no not at all. Into YQT, why not. Hands and feet are one of the first skills to det...

Re: Being a Proficient Pilot

Don’t forget to read through the AIM occasionally, there is a lot of pertinent information that gets rusty over the years. I personally find reading through Section VII of the cars with a focus on 705 is helpful. Take some time once you’re comfortable with the aircraft and “meat and potatoes” manua...

Re: Being a Proficient Pilot

Good day, For all of you airline pilots out there, I was wondering what you do to stay proficient and to try and improve/be on top of your game. I’m about to start flying at a 705 and just looking to set myself up for success as someone with relatively low experience. Some ideas I have are: - Const...

“Glass” shouldn’t matter. An airplane is an airplane. The same information is displayed.
