Re: Bid 08-02

Looks like we missed having to let anyone go... even though there's movement on paper.

I'm kinda happy about that... I would have been the first one out the door!

Oh no! Now you all know who I am!

And a Merry Christmas to all!!

Bid 08-02

I heard in the YYZ crew room today that the bid will be coming out Thursday, Friday at the latest.

I'm anxious to see it, especially with the memo posted everywhere about Aeropersonel giving info sessions about contract work...

Stay tuned for another exciting program.

Hey guys!

I'm in the same boat here... gonna be starting on the line in July, and still looking for a crashpad...

Any help would be appreciated!

Cheers!

April 7th course

Well, I got the email today... pretty happy about it too! I guess my prop flying days are almost over... I'm going to miss them, especially on an icy ramp! And I'll have to change my signature also...!! But I'm pretty sure I will get used to bridges and APU's. Anyone else got the good news? And I've...

Pa31 Driver

Are you talking about Mainline or Jazz? This forum is about mainline, and I have never heard of them calling back the next day. Jazz yes.

I got the email yesterday, replied promptly, and got an anwser the next day. I am Jazz employed, so I said yes. She replied back to me that I was not eligible for the interview at this time since they have to go with seniority. They have interviewed below my seniority, so I got an email a few hours ...

And JS,

If I look at my ATPL it says CANADA in big bold letters.

Quebec does not emit pilot licenses... Canada does... so I guess it's also an "Ottawa" thing

But they do state at numerous places on their website that Canada has 2 official languages. Here is another quote for you: Why does Canada have two official languages? The existence of two official languages in Canada is a product of our history. In 1867, the British North America Act gave official ...

You wouldn't even know I speak French Cat Driver... I don't even have a French name so don't make stupid assumptions. Like I said earlier, my intent was not to start a rant... but I am not one to turn the other cheek.

Because most people here are really friendly, so as soon as they detect that French is not your first language, well they will revert to English if they can speak it decently. Exactly the same in a crew... even if only one crewmember speaks English and the rest of the crew speaks French, well most o...

That's exactly what I didn't want to happen... a rant... But what the hell... Like I said, there are 2 (two) official languages in this country... ENGLISH and FRENCH , not Spanish, Cree or Ojibwe. Second, I didn't say that everyone in Quebec was bilingual, I just said that pilots were... and if peop...

C-GGGQ I think it's pretty simple... We live in a country with 2 official languages. I understand that not everyone in this country speaks both languages... but every French speaking pilot also speaks English... the opposite is far from true. And if you apply for a job in a major company anywhere in...

There should be more hiring coming because right now, Jazz is barely able to hire enough pilots to cover the ones who are leaving for mainline... (24 pilots hired in febuary, about 30 leaving for mainline). And there are planes sitting on the ground everyday because they don't have the crews to fly ...

You're on probation for a year, but you get to have travel privileges after 6 months. And no, I imagine you do not have to move to YYZ... but you will have to commute, and pilots with more senority than you will always pass before you... it'll be up to you to be in time in YYZ to do your flight. If ...

No, the passes are only good for you, and only to commute for work, no other reason...

And I would not recommend missing work during the first 6 months...

Hope this helps!!

You can only commute from where you live and YYZ for the first 6 months. If your base is not YYZ, then you won't have passes to commute. And you get no other travel privileges for the first 6 months.
