Re: A Boeing 777 Has Crash-Landed At San Francisco Internati

This: It's just not that hard contradicts your very next sentence: three pilots who have been working in that environment for years can still bollock it up If the job were as easy as you say it is, and it didn't require a pilot to do it right, then there would not be a broken airplane and three fata...

Re: A Boeing 777 Has Crash-Landed At San Francisco Internati

And therein lies the point: The number of engines has nothing to do with anything, it's all about understanding your environment, and some are touch more complex than others... the kayak gives me plenty of "managing...' No engine req'd. Lots of people sail, not many run white water... Lots of peopl...

There, fixed it for you.
I was originally going to go for something like that, but I figured what you fly had at least one engine to manage.

Re: A Boeing 777 Has Crash-Landed At San Francisco Internati

I must admit, I'm beginning to fail to understand how the word "Pilot" applies in modern airliners anymore... I'll explain it in pictures and analogy for you: If we were sailors, this would be your vessel: rush big brother.jpg This would be the airliner: http://luxedb.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/01...

It must be true. Two of their reporters saw a video of it on a guys cell phone. As soon as they come up with $200K they'll show the video to all of us.

Either you trust those students enough I don't think you need further "evaluation" or you believe you have really good fire insurance. Who said anything about using my airplane? Re: Ex: 22

As for shutting the engine off, I don't think it is necessarily dangerous, it's just that the risks don't justify the rewards in a training environment. +1 This falls into the category of, "Things I would not do myself, but wouldn't summarily execute others for." Instead the pilot mindlessly rattle...

Re: Blue Angels and Thunderbirds season cancelled due to cut

Contrast that with Harper's annual trip up north for the shot of him on a ship with CF-18's and a submarine that they practically had to tow up there for the occasion all in the same frame, or a ship assault by JTF-2, our previously super secret anti-terrorist unit. So a large joint exercise in an ...

I think you are in a time-warp. Two hours ago you posted it was Sunday morning. I'm pretty sure the rest of us are somewhere at Tuesday. That was deliberate, I wanted to see how many people here actually think about what I post. I did read it, and just chalked it up as an "old guy moment"...
