Re: New Hire Questions

I don't think there are plans for GS soon; although it will have to spool up fast if AC decides to hire again. Sim evals are still ongoing.

You can bid a change in base on Day 2, as soon as you're set-up on the website.

Re: Commuting

There is a commuting policy; you have to take the 2nd to last flight that would get you on time for your report. That is with reasonable efforts. If the flights are oversold or there's a storm forecasted, you're expected to plan accordingly. PS: I don't believe AC passes are available for the first ...

Well technically, we're allowed class 1 EFBs; now for flight above 10k and in cruise.
I use my iPad frequently for references, although I'm not holding my breath anymore for the jepps

Re: Quebec Payroll tax deductions for Ontario residents?

The easiest way as I understand it is pay taxes as QC resident for 2011, and there is another form from the govt that you need to send them and get refunded for the portion when you stayed in ON. Not sure about the form's name but I work with several people in the situation and that's out they figur...

I guess it'd be somewhat trickier as the position bid is all across Canada and vacation bid is separated in each base. No?

Min. vectoring altitudes: When??

Hey all, Maybe someone can answer this one, I unfortunately lack the knowledge in ATC! Coming into a radar-covered airport, weather is around 4,800' overcast, we're operating IFR and coming from the south so our plan is to land visual on RWY 36, which has no IFR approaches on it. ATC clears us direc...

You'll get weekends off when you're doing the theory, and in the sim, still 2 days off but somewhere in the week, depending on your schedule. You're still supposed to have 12 days off per month, and 4 credit hours per training day + perdiems. If you take the bus 58 towards Lawrence West Stn, you'll ...

Jamais vu de simu King Air, pour ceux du CQ, il y a 3 Mechtronix Ascent (PA-28, PA-34, et B200) et 1 Mechtronix XJ-LJ Trainer (placé à Dorval, B737NG, et ATR-42 ou Dash-8, c'étais en discussion quand j'y étais...)
