Re: Air Canada Pool
Air Canada has 2 A320s going online soon. C-FGJI (Fin 241?) is in Montreal after delivery from Dresden and C-FGKH is in Europe awaiting delivery. Both are ex Thomas Cook aircraft built in 2002. No idea if anything is leaving the fleet.

Re: FP60 update Federal Court of Appeals
What is sadder is that the guys who have benefited the most by the change in legislation, the guys who turned 60 after Dec 2012, will be retired by the time this is decided and won't even have to pay into any settlement. In other words, those guys never put anything toward FP60 yet reaped the larges...

Re: Question
Not legally. But once in awhile guys would let the SO do 10000 to 10000 or even TO to Landing. Depended on the crew and the competency of the SO. Pretty big kick to get the Take off out of ORD with the immediate left turn in a DC- 8 Freighter, only to arrive in YYZ in a CB. Good times.

What was the question in IVR 72? If I recall it wasn't a call to defend mandatory retirement to the bitter end.

Thanks for that. Not bad, but maybe they could come up with a new scheme by then. No doubt some will end up in Rouge colours if that experiment continues.

Re: Leave to Appeal Application Filed at Supreme Court of Ca
Let’s cut all the crap about “someone stepped aside and let them enjoy the view.” Very few step aside before 60 and all of us were thrown out whether we liked it or not. This was always about seniority. When ACPA formed a committee to study (and fight) the age discrimination battle, one of the membe...

Gotta like Crandell's letter, "You can count on us to keep the company solid, and to honor the deal, far into the future." Sounds like the BS they were giving employees about pensions.

Re: Sunwing, it's Wet-Leases and the CTA approval to the lat
This is probably the funniest thing I've read on here. In order to not "inconvenience" some pax, they allow the leases for 6 months, 23 days. Sunwing claims they started work on this in June so even if they started June 01, they only took 5 months, 7 days to plan the whole operation. Surely, the CTA...

So is that really $41,000 per pilot? 124 million divided by 3000. Can't be. And that's per year! Those 777 upgrades for a select few sure must have been important.

With bonuses and stock options for even more of the boys. Each of the two entities will run as separate businesses with their own chief executives and reporting of financial results.

Re: Hey Calin, read this........
Now here is a concept. An airline CEO actually taking some responsibility for his airline. Note that its the "fall in profits" that is triggering this, not an ever increasing loss as is the case with AC. Calin has mentioned Qantas and its LCC as a great example of a model to follow. Think he'll foll...

Re: Air Canada hires senior Harper aide as government liaiso
Please don't forget that the pilots were not going on strike. They were threatening to but the company set a time to lock them out. This "forced" the gov'ts hand to conveniently bring in the legislation to impose a contract. It wasn't the "greedy" unions that wanted to shut down everyone's March Bre...

Re: Air Canada Pension
And They have just siphoned off the full amount of pension owing to the employees who went to Aeroplan. Wasn't there a deficit when they left? Yet Aeroplan has to pay none of the deficit. Just more spinning money out of Air Canada to the favoured companies.

Re: Mediator resigns from talks between Air Canada, pilots
If Air Canada is going into CCAA or worse, is Chorus or Aeroplan stock falling? Those should be the first contracts rewritten. How can the gov't allow Air Canada to potentially disappear if its so important to the economy that even pax agents are legislated back to work? Amazing that during negotiat...

Re: Mandatory Retirement Repeal Passes 2nd Reading in Parlia
Don't Pilots over 60 operate within Air Canada almost every month? You are only retired at the END of the month you turn 60 so technically, a pilot who turns 60 on the second can, and does, operate for an entire month while over the age of 60. Of course, the guys with a birth date of the 31st don't ...

You can't negotiate away yours or anyone else's rights. If you could, the pilot group could decide by 50% plus 1 that we don't want to work with (insert religious group) or people of a specific race. How long do you think that would last?

So in 300 words or less, why is Westjet making money and Air Canada is not
How much went out the side door to Chorus, Aeroplan etc?
How much in bonuses, salaries and stock otions for execs that lost money in the qtr?
How much to service Milton and that dweeb that followed him's pensions?
etc etc
