Re: Interesting findings on Perimeter gear-up March/09

no hourly rates, just a flat salary... but considering most pilots dont reach 1000 hours, the hourly rate would probably work out pretty good... (my hourly rate on my last pay was about $157/hr) our schedule is based on 16 days worked... for the most part with the co operation of our crew scheduler ...

Re: Interesting findings on Perimeter gear-up March/09

Hey Stu, I'm with you Maybe everyone is jealous because we pay Dash 8 captains 100K a year to be home every night, (FO's are paid higher then the 16 year FO at jazz) and as for those of us on the 703/704 fleet making 65K after a year, and up to 95K to fly a light twin half the month... i could see w...

Re: Fireball across the prairies

Hmmmmmmmm,

It could have just as easily been a shooting star from our location, but it was in that direction (SW). We were enroute from Rankin Inlet to Churchill and remarked a a quick flash of a shooting star, i wonder if it was the same thing, but not as spectacular as we were so far away.

Re: EIIF buys Kistigan

So what do you think Stu, lets you and me start up an air service to somewhere in Northern Mb, make it work for a while, then sell it to EIIF and retire... I can only hope GB made a little $ of this deal, but either way - competition, stay away!!! we have deeper pockets then you (when I say we, I me...

Re: Perimeter

Well Gil, When it's 30 degrees outside, I would much rather be taking a Dash in and out of YST then a Metro 3, and especially a Metro 2 (although I have yet to have the pleasure). Can't comment on the 1900, but I believe it has a bit more power then (or is it than) the Metro 3, and its elevator prob...

Re: Perimeter

Bunch - depends on the day of the week it seems. We hired some people with 1500 hours of single engine time, a few with upwards of 5000 with some turbine PIC time, most usually spend close to a year in the right seat or more, just like those that come from the ramp with no time. Probably because the...

Re: Perimeter

Yes we do hire FO's directly, but they are usually ones with a bunch of time... If you are at 250, you will probably have to work the ramp. As far as 250 goes, it's just a number, more or less they just want someone with CPL Multi IFR. If you finished your training in 200 hours, that wont hold you b...
