Re: Another Crash in BC

GPS trackers are “fail-safe”. They leave a trail of breadcrumbs that ends when the unit is destroyed or electrical power is removed—and it’s likely going to be close to the crash site. That's fine for super wealthy elite 1% guys. What about us po' folk? Those units are like a hunnerd an fitty bucks...

Re: Got a letter from a Doctor at Transport regarding my class 01

I can't speak kilograms but I'm probably more of them than that. I got blood work done a few months before my last Cat3 and my CAME seemed happy with the amount of residual fast food/pizza grease in my blood.

Get the blood work done just to make sure you're good.

Re: Flight training with masks?

I went out for 1.4 yesterday and once we were done I didn't even bother taking the mask off until I left the building after a debrief and settling my account. I was using a disposable mask and wore my eyeglasses. Minimal fog issues. It was even a pretty warm day and the straps went behind my ears. M...

Who wants a donut with sprinkles? It's not worth the calories. I want one from Texas dipped in chocolate.

I don't know, do you really think that 0.3 dual cross country time logged as regular time is going to make a big difference?

Fun video.

We can't even build Beavers, Norsemen, Harvards or Lancasters anymore.

Re: Logging cross country

Funny how many different opinions there are on this sort of thing. Way back I did my first X-country solo as a student pilot with a touch and go at the other airport. Last year I was told not to log going to that same airport and doing touch and goes as x-country because, "You need a full stop to lo...

Anyone know where I should look?

Re: Recession incoming

I'm still getting fresh beef. Smoked a rib roast just now, it's resting in parchment, foil and a towel inside a cooler. Going to be delicious!

I can even get the fancy beans I like.

I was not able to buy any silver during the temporary dip. Buggers knew it was going to go right back up.

Re: Community/Residential Air Parks

There were acreage lots at Fort McLeod Alberta for sale backing onto the runway about 17 years ago. You were able to build a hangar and separate residence. Horses were also allowed.

You might still be able to buy one off a current owner. Nice paved runway. A bit windy.

Re: Top Gun 2 - Delayed!!

Ice Man lost his medical, so I'll still go see it but it won't be as good as the first one. Ice Man got pretty fat in his later years. I don’t think he would meet the weight requirements for the ejection seats. Val is also working through some fairly serious throat issues too. I think he has ...

Yes sir, you took both my son and I for a helicopter ride. I was actually angling for rides with the op this time. However if things go back to semi normal I might come up and bother you again. Take care and have a great week.

I bet he did. I made the mistake of going to Superstore looking for some yeast. There was no one in the boxes they painted on the sidewalk to line up in for entry but we waited in a line to check out with our eggs. No yeast there though.

I would phone your Doc tell them you would like and appointment. Go to work if you can. Get a medical once the Doc phones you and will book an appointment.

Re: Looking for advice from the recession veterans

If you choose option (A), don't forget to log as much night PIC time as you can, especially night X-country. I was going to write something like that. What plane do you have? I might buy fuel and fly around with you. You can log the whole thing as PIC but you have to let me fly a bit. I need some p...

Yikes. I remember a guy training there in the early 1990s excitedly telling me about the great loans the were giving him at an interest rate higher than my Visa. They have changed hands many times since then. I actually like one of the former owners I know as an acquaintance, but alas he doesn't eve...

Just keep studying. It's a massive amount of information but it's all important. It can be daunting but just keep at it. Things worth while are often a lot of work.

You'll look back and have a reason to be proud.
