They have some KING AIRS 350 at YHZ. One has a corporate contract. The other KING AIR does other work, I think some medevacs and maybe charters. Provincial Airways is a good job in the Maritimes, I know some guys there and once was going to apply.

Re: Porter bases
COMETer, your posts show ignorance to airline operations, for example at Jazz, not Air Jazz, you are not simply upgraded based on a seniority number, you still have to pass all checks and line indoc. If you don't pass, you don't upgrade. The system you dream of, is one where a brown noser like your...

Cometer, I thought you had all the prop time you needed/wanted 2-3 years ago and that you deserved nothing less than direct entry to jets and the Jazz fast track to captain upgrade "scheme"? So you all were right on that, that Air jazz does things via the senior system. But then explain to me why C...

What are my chances of a YHZ base if hired by Porter? How long is the upgrade in YHZ? Is it becoming senior like it is with Air Jazz? Or is it junior like it is with Air Georgian?ptc wrote:Pilot bases are YTZ, YOW and YHZ

The monies one can make doing ISR flyights for Provincial is a lot, if you can get to the Caribbean contract they have. The Provincial guys who are based in Halifax flying the King Airs don't fly a lot and don't make a lot. So do the ISR stuff and you'll be making a lot more.

I am on the Dash based in YUL and am trying to get back to YYC, is anyone interested in a base swap?? That should be an easy swap from what I hear YUL is senior and Calgary is more junior so you will find somebody to trade or a newhire to take your place and go West. I think you need to read this a...

\ From what I have heard, aside from a few growing pains in the back end (which they are sorting out). The 757 operations is going quite smoothly. We are only 2 months in. Is thar any more info about the 757s and how they are running? What are the trips like? For how many years seniority does it ta...

Re: Flight Crew Positions Voyageur
The only kingairs operating for VAL are in Moncton. From what I've heard there is not a lot of movement out of that base as the folks there tend to like it. If you come to VAL you can bet on working overseas. Occasionally there is domestic work, but the lions share of our work in overseas. Cheers. ...

Re: Flight Crew Positions Voyageur
Yup, all bonds suck, but as I said it's better than paying for your job or your training. For me, I already knew what overseas work was like, and had a pretty good idea what the job was all about, so sticking around for at least one year was not a big deal. But if you're not sure if this lifestyle ...

If you get an interview with Jazz be sure to tell them that you will only fly the RJ because you want the jet time to get a better job on a wide body. They're sure to love that. If they award me an Accelerated Command Captaincy on the Dash, I'll go there. It depends on how the Captains Review...

I'll let the Captain's Upgrade Review Board be the final judge of all that. If hired at Jazz, I'll put in my upgrade bid after a year of flying the line, and let the chips fall as they may. Why does it take forevur to upgrade ther? Are thar people Jazz hires low on experiuncce? Is hiring people stra...

Re: Sky Regional Q400 ?
Who is going to handle the ramp work at YTZ? Air Canada staff from other bases such as the IAM? We haven't heard anything yet, but curious who will do it. Rumor is that we (Porter) will under contract, but will we have dedicated crews for Sky Regional? I'm sure they will be very fussy on how their ...
