Earliest I can renew my ADB
Well here's a good one, it's been a few months since I've last flown and I've lost my ADB. It expires in about 10 months, so I figure why not just renew it now if I can? So does anyone one when the earliest I can send in a renewal application? And will I get the new ADB a few weeks down the r...

Re: Diamond Training Question - Soft Field
Sorry with my choice of wording. It does have "some" authority during the initial stages of the roll, but it doesn't come on very linear. Hence I said ease it forward as the airspeed is picking up. Obviously full back pressure during the starting stages of a roll isn't going to help get the nose whe...

Altitude to climb to on a overshoot
When I first started my training 5 years ago, I was told to climb back to 500'AGL and if no conflict cut over to a early crosswind and re-join downwind right away. Should you always stay at 500'AGL until you are clear of the runway? Reason I ask is, maybe you have someone crossing overhead at 1000'A...

Re: Diamond Training Question - Soft Field
I hold nearly full back pressure on the controls until I start getting some airspeed on the roll. As the A/C picks up airspeed I start easing off the back pressure just a bit to prevent a tail strike on the Diamond. The T tail is kind of on/off in a soft field take off. Nothing, nothing, then bam. J...

Re: Mount Royal
Word is that they are getting a new fleet of 172s. But it's August, and I have yet to have seen them.

Re: Aviation diploma worth my time and money?
Decided i'm not going the diploma route, the school isn't Confed/Seneca, so I would have to pay every cent for the flight training anyways.

Calgary medical costs
What is the typical cost for a CAT 1 medical in Calgary? I've had one place tell me $200 + 60 for ECG, booked an appointment, then they called me back and said it was actually $300+60 for a CAT 1. Called a 2nd place and they said $200, asked if that was for a CAT 1, and the receptionist said yes. :r...

Re: Aviation diploma worth my time and money?
Did you get a full class schedule? I thought the program was going to be more on the lines of in class 3-4 days a week etc, and or half days and the rest was flying etc. But when we were presented the class outline, it was five full 3 credit college classes per semester. Meaning I'd be at main campu...

Aviation diploma worth my time and money?
Initially I was quite geared towards getting an aviation diploma, but after attending a information meeting and talking to a friend who took the first year of a program, I'm having second thoughts. I finished my PPL training over 4 years ago and didn't really stay current, so I'm just getting myself...

PPL Daytime Ground School in Calgary?
I took PPL training a few yeas ago, but since then have not flown. I am wanting to go back and get my PPL, but am having issues with finding a school that offers a daytime ground school. Is there anywhere that offers anything during the day?
