Re: STOP THIS PILOT-IN-WAITING...
Some interesting reads in this thread. I'm not here to pick fights or anything just to add to a meaningful respectful conversation. I got my license about 4 years ago now and bounced around a bit and ended up taking a bit of a break due to some family stuff. I'm looking at getting back into it, my p...

Re: Best flight schools in the country?
Smokescreen I kind of mentioned a flight school specifically with regards to instructing at. I already have a CPL Multi IFR. I'm familiar with mostly schools in Ontario Eastwards. Really looking for info on the ones out West.

Best flight schools in the country?
Hey guys Just wondering what schools people think are the best from coast to coast. Instructor comments are much appreciated too. Like the busyness of the place, quality of training, schedule, weather, overall mood or atmosphere around the club etc. Also specifically doing an Instructor Rating there...

Instructing at WWFC and BFC
Hey, Just wondering if anyone has any info on which school would be better to instruct at? Busy, good group etc. Whatever you can tell me. Will be contacting them myself to get some info too. Just doing as much homework that I can. And keep it to the topic or any decent places in SW Ontario to instr...

Re: Seneca,Sault or Confederation college for flight trainin
Go where you feel is the right fit for you. I have my own personal opinions on Sault but I won't go on a rant. Basically just work hard, stick with it when things get tough during training and even after; the first little while is tough. Wherever you go, you can go as far in aviation as you want. Be...

Yea I saw the posting on PCC and tried to bring them up. Google failed me too lol. All I got was what you got when you tried to go to their website. Seems so far, no one out there is familiar with them. Must be new

Re: Best Company For New CPL in YYC
I see a lot of problems too in this industry. I can't do nothing about it myself because I'm a fairly new low time guy. Maybe I'll be a pioneer of change though, by the time I'm 50 and all grayed up :p Someone has too. Not just one, but a majority, if not nothing will change. By that time though eve...

Air North
Does anyone know if Air North puts ground guys (low time) into the Hawker? I have my doubts as they pay ramp $14/hr off their website. In Vancouver anyways. Also any inside on other northern operators or really anywhere that is hiring, hires low time guys and typical wait times? Also if they're a de...

Re: VOR and NDB
OK. So think back to those diagrams where it's like a cross. North at top, east, right, south down, west left. I know that 270 radial would be on the left side of the station in the diagram. For a bearing of 270 then and bearings running into NDBs, is it on the left or right of that station? Be a lo...

Yea think that's what it is just want to hear from others to make sure lol. Radials run outbound, bearings inbound. I'm trying to go back to those diagrams we used to do in groundschool lol.

VOR and NDB
Ok so I'm trying to prepare for the IATRA and my mind has kinda gone a bit blank on me with the whole deal on VOR radials and NDB...what do you call them x_x Radials run out from a VOR I believe and NDB(whatever it is) run into the station? You could be on the 320 radial but going to the station, so...

Second Officer Gig
Just wondering what people's thoughts are on getting started in aviation via a second officer for cargo runs? How you'd log the flight time. I remember I waa told during school, but don't remember much of it. Will you be doing that for a while? You fly much, as in how often are you working basically...

Ok guys that was clearly a typo sheesh x_x Seriously be realistic here. Obviously was trying to say "I'm not going to spemd another 80k". And for the most part here I was really just looking for some particulars that people had on a particular company. Kinda like what the first two said lol.

Hey So I'm a 300 hour CPL, Multi-IFR rated guy and I'm wondering if anyone can offer some insight on North Cariboo Air. Particularly about ramping to a plane. I know their mins online say for a king air FO is 500 TT. 250 multi time. I'm going to spend another say 80k to get that multi time lol. If a...

Re: Sunglasses for flying
I have been looking at Serengeti and like a few. Velocity, Granada, Aerial, and Sortie. With the Velocity 3 are polarized and the other two are "driver's gradient". The colors don't exactly jump out at me though. The Granada are all polarized, two are driver's polarized. The Aerial and Sortie have a...

School for IFR flight training
Hey Guys
I am in Saskatoon and just have the IFR to do. I'm wondering what you can tell me about Mitchinson's and Millennium here. I do know Millennium starts you out in the PA28 then onto their twin PA30. Is there a benefit to starting out in the single first? I know it helps on the cost.
Thanks

I decided to get the A2 from Us Wings. I ordered it last Tuesday and I got it today - from the US. I'm pleased with the jacket. I figured the B3 bomber jackets were to warm, maybe if I end up north haha. Watch wise, I'll still be looking. I don't need one soon. Thanks for your help guys....and girls...

Re: Aviator Jacket & Watches
I've checked out US Wings and Gibson and Barnes as well as some other ones. I do like US Wings, but the only thing is if you get the wrong size you would have to pay for the return shipping and customs, but they'd exchange it for you. Does anyone have an idea on customs and shipping costs for someth...

I'm currently working on my ppl here in Ottawa. The past week I've been going over emergency procedures and forced landings. I did a 15 min minny briefing with my secondary instructor and went up and she told me to focus on for the 150, maintain 60 kts, carb heat on, and choose a good field to land....
