Re: No Clear Winner in FCA Mandatory Retirement Decision
None of us wanted to be here, but here we are anyway. that's easy then....tell the FP60 team to drop the proceedings and get on with enjoying your retirement instead of spending money and time in legal proceedings...the ball's in your court, don't "blame" others for being where you are. TFF !...

Re: No Clear Winner in FCA Mandatory Retirement Decision
The point is that the ruling gives a bit more clarity and hope to the young pilots at Air Canada. They can plan their lives with a bit more certainty knowing that at least 70 pilots (who have already had a great career) will not be coming back and causing further stagnation in their career progress...

Re: No Clear Winner in FCA Mandatory Retirement Decision
Do you thing the SCC will hear this case assuming an appeal is sought?
Whether or not that happens would only be pure speculation at this point. Only the SCC knows that answer. There is still a lot of water to go under the bridge before that point arrives. It all hinges on what happ...

Re: No Clear Winner in FCA Mandatory Retirement Decision
:D I don't see anything funny about a broken legal system. None of the courts or tribunals to date have been able to make a decision based on legal fact and / or common sense. So far everyone has found a loophole to avoid landing the plane. This endless go-around is getting downright ridiculous. I ...

Re: Air Ontario Lawsuit
This frivolous lawsuit has been dismissed by the courts every step of the way.
I am also under the understanding that the SCC is swamped and only hears cases that affect national interest.
This dead horse can finally be buried.

Re: Next few days.....
You’re missing the point, duke. Pilots such as yourself bemoaned, ad nauseum, the destruction of your careers as a result of FP60, predicting loss of income that would cause pilots to default on their mortgages, and worse. The “sky is falling” chatter went so far as to create fear and prophesy layo...

Re: SOME AGE 60 HISTORY
This bleeting of sheep is getting tiring. "I was fired"..... "I was terminated"......"happy birthday, you're fired"..... The complaints are the same, the complainers are the same, the responses are the same. " "Tough words, but the "unjust termination" arguement has always been a transparent, weak ...

Re: ACPA Leadership
The day that the ACPA so called "leadership" , took an active, unprecedented and illegal stance against 200 of its own members was the day it died as a union.
This change is the first glimmer of professionalism returning to the representation of the AC pilots.

How anyone can actually read Doug's former post, http://www.avcanada.ca/forums2/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=66209&p=667956#p667956 and still not fathom what this struggle is all about and has always been about, and how it could / should have been handled, then there's simply no reason for further discussio...

Is it true that the number 1 guy has been divorced 5 times? Is it true you were kicked out of grade 3 for not shaving? The answer to both these questions have absolutely no relevance to the subject matter! MTK, PS Actually I heard it was 23 wives and 118 kids to support. If we are going to start st...

Re: Fed Ct Overturns Tribunal Dismissal of Age 60 Complaints
What was the question in IVR 72? If I recall it wasn't a call to defend mandatory retirement to the bitter end. The fix was in on this vote long before it ever saw the light of day. The MEC sat down and decided the outcome well before it was presented to the membership. Instead of taking a methodic...
