Re: Air Canada and Transat announce Increased Purchase Price to $18 per Share

Guys, Why do we become competitors as pilots? Just cause we wear a different colored hat or uniform? I am actually curious where this notion comes from that pilots are competing against one and another. When in actuality, we are all the cut of the same cloth, doing what we love, trying to provide f...

Re: Air Canada and Transat announce Increased Purchase Price to $18 per Share

At this point everything is possible but my guess is AC will continue and keep A.T separate ... And if you think this transaction is dead 2 days ago Air Canada and Air Transat together apply for a provincial bailout :smt008 They didn’t do it together. In the article written it clearly says seperate...

Buckle up. Hearing it could be a long bumpy ride for those furloughed at AC.

Upcoming bid will reflect this, and even more pain.

Sorry, I wish I had better news.
You seem to always have accurate info. Any other specifics?

yeah that makes sense, it looked like each subsequent pass on the flight tracker was slightly offset from the last. Thanks for the info

KENN BOREK in MIAMI (OPF)

Down in Fort Lauderdale, I’ve been seeing a KENN Borek Basler doing some sort of patrol on the shoreline at night about 10-20 miles wide at 600 feet about 1 mile offshore. Call sign is AZAZ0909

Any idea what this flight does?

I fly with pilots that routinely unhook their shoulder harnesses for whatever perceived advantage. I don't get that either.
I have never flown with anyone at an airline who doesn’t get rid of the shoulder harness above 10,000 feet.

Re: AC offer AT $13 per share

Alti, Tsam. Fantastic. That's exactly the point I was trying to make. It shouldn't be necessary to out incidents of retards as justification that a group is less worthy than another. There's no point in going down the path of "outing" the minority of douchebags that slip through the cracks. Air Can...

I'm a 3rd year F/O at AC and as much as I like the idea of the junior AC people that have been posting about BOTL it will NOT happen nor do I really think it should. AS TSAM said they are coming into it with airplanes and experienced crews of which AC needs. Selfishly I don't want this merger for my...

Newly hired FO with a 705 carrier. I'm a career changer. Anything can change between now and 4 years but AC is the goal. Yes, crappy pay to start but what the heck, it's AC. Can't beat red. What are forecasted hiring trends looking like? How long do we suspect this wave will last? Age 65 retirement...

Re: Deal or No Deal?

They know that the guys with less than 17 years to go in their career will probably vote yes because they want job security until they retire and the majority of the bottom half of the list will want to go to AC. So your saying it’s a good deal for the majority of Jazz Pilots Not at all, I’m saying...

Your not gambling your future just everyone else by voting yes. Damaging the future generations to come, and discouraging future aviators from perusing a flying career cause the wages and perks are shit and locking in a contract for 17 years. Re: AC New hires please us your WB bid

If Air Canada made Wide Body F/O the same status (get off flat pay) as a narrow body captain they would have no problem crewing the 777/787. To elaborate, if you bid widebody f/o it would get you off of 4 year flat pay just like going captain gets you off flat pay. I KNOW it will never happen becaus...

Re: The next PML wave

Guaranteed GGN management went bitching to AC saying that they can't retain their pilots and that they need to sweeten the pot. Don't really see the use of implementing a new PML list with 80% coming from Jazz, and seeing how the last few AC groundschools have had a bunch of SKV, GGN pilots anyways.

Ya? And what are you basing your opinion that Jazz has been saving AC's image while the rest damage it? What basis does that nonsense come from? The pay? Just because crews may work more at some of those regionals, it does not mean service is always affected. And as someone else astutely commented,...

Your putting the horse before the cart bud. If you make it through the interview, you will have a sim eval, and then a drug test (pee in a cup).
