Re: Flight Attendant strike vote opens on July 28th

I am happy to stand corrected on that pmg, if you can prove it, I certainly haven't seen it anywhere? Anything else you seem to think you know more about?

Re: Westjet 737 Gear collapse in SXM today

It is a completely fair criticism that the RT work here is very poor, including the Tower Controller. We have plenty of Pilots from "la belle province" who's English language skills are well below acceptable.

Don't say that in polite company.

Re: Flight Attendant strike vote opens on July 28th

Here's a PSA to AC FA's The Arbitrator absolutely can give you less that you just voted down. If I was the company my opening position to the Arbitrator would be 3% across the board for 4 years. The other reality is from the companies standpoint there is a pot of cash, distribute it how you like. In...

Re: Flight Attendant strike vote opens on July 28th

Aren't you a funny guy, I don't know any Pilot that was in a position of strength to negotiate anything for their first job.

The fact of the matter is, almost every single newhire FA's job options, are minimum wage jobs. How much do you think AC should pay a 1st year FA?

Re: Flight Attendant strike vote opens on July 28th

Let's talk about how much most Pilots earned for their first flying job, ramping and chucking freight for Buffalo Joe. Times have changed and the road to the Major Airlines has rarely been easier. The starting pay for FA's is definitely low, but the future is a six figure paycheck, a pension and won...

Re: Flight Attendant strike vote opens on July 28th

I will predict the corp gets very vindictive in Arbitration, no point in mediation as they are miles apart. Whatever the FA's get, so will the rampies and agents. The economic climate has drastically changed since CUPE started bargaining, if we're not in a recession we are awfully close. I highly do...

The AC FA's were played by CUPE National for their larger agenda. Even I am shocked at how bad this deal is, you got spanked and sent to your room.

Thanks for the laugh but very happily married. From what I saw of the Picket Line, Jenny Craig should have set up a booth.

Re: Flight Attendant strike vote opens on July 28th

Fortunately, I have never worked for Rouge. I have never seen a Pilot ask for something, for nothing. However - I have spent a lifetime commuting watching FA's smuggle J-Class meals to the back galley. Newsflash sweetheart, a moment on the lips equals a lifetime on the hips. Keep it up - a slow move...

Re: Flight Attendant strike vote opens on July 28th

That’s your best comeback? As the saying goes; “the facts don’t care about your feelings.”

Hats off to CUPE as you have completely tricked the public into sympathy with the bs about unpaid work.

Along with the gender / alphabet people nonsense.

Re: Flight Attendant strike vote opens on July 28th

The only comparable AC CUPE will use, is the AC Pilots. At no point have they compared themselves to other FA's in Canada, or for that matter include the Americans. "Pay example for Flight Attendant hired in 2015: Starting wage in 2015: $25.13/hour Present wage in 2025 if Flight Attendant remains wo...

Re: Flight Attendant strike vote opens on July 28th

Time will tell GIVCE! but the T4 is the only real measure. To think they are going to get their current hourly wage (or the expected increased rate) from Check-in to Check-out is not going to happen. Talk to your neighbors if they think 100K / year is a pretty good salary, it puts you in the top 20%...

Re: Flight Attendant strike vote opens on July 28th

In typical fashion both the Employer and CUPE are busy telling half-truths. The "unpaid work" banner has certainly resonated with the public, but the truth is a different story. FA hourly pay is calculated to compensate for the so-called unpaid work, top pay is currently $85 / hour which takes many...

AC ALPA are there to support you in receiving compensation and to protect the rest of the Pilots from any stupidity from the CIRB.

Re: Does anyone know what the MEC is actually trying to get out of the ULP?

Unfortunately we still have ex-Jazz Pilots that are convinced they will move 1000 numbers up the seniority list. Along with that belief, comes a massive chip on their shoulder.

Hopefully you get some sort of monetary compensation, but the seniority list is not changing.

Re: Flight Attendant strike vote opens on July 28th

"Unpaid Work Won't Fly" is a nice little catch phrase. Bottom line is your T4 and this is the way Pilots and FA's have always been paid at AC. How about if you want to be paid from Check-in to Check-Out, we'll simply reduce your hourly wage and your T4 will remain unchanged. Top pay is somewhere aro...

That particular Captain said on the PA, what most Pilots think. The PA shouldn't be used as a soap box, but that is my opinion. If any Jazz Flow Through Pilot thinks the existing Seniority List is going to get changed - you are completely delusional. Alot of the 285 already know it's not gonna change. Those numbers are lost till we retire, they are only seeking a fair compensation without hurting anyone else not involved. I...
