Re: Just say NO to Aviation Degrees and Debt

This is a copy of another posters response on the other thread. Like so many others who have posted here, my feelings are biased by my experience as well. I may have a bit of a unique perspective, however, having taught at a college, while running a charter company, FTU next door. I'm just wondering...

Re: Just say NO to Aviation Degrees and Debt

Aviation Diploma programs are guilty of selling the program at whatever cost to fill their seats. This is called "advertising or marketing"... Yes, I have seen big aviation diploma programs even in Alberta use the sim time to pad the logbook to the disadvantage of the student logbook. Of course, the...

Ratemyemployer.ca

Great new webpage set up by former employees and current employees of companies including AVIATION companies.

It rates the good/bad and has comments from the employees.

Very informative, if you are curious about a company.

Re: Recent North Cariboo Info...

It's charter.
You are called the day before for the flight. So basically you are "on call" all the time. No set schedule.
Days can be long over 14 hour days and go up north rig crew changes.

Re: Does anybody know much about West Wind Aviation???

Mr. Christmas did you know the Chief Pilot recently retired?
He was very respected for his wealth of knowledge and service to the industry in Saskatchewan.

He will be missed at Westwind. Although I live in Alberta, I miss him already when I pass thru YXE.

Re: Interested by Sky Regional Airlines, please consider

Heard a rumor that the hold up for Sky's AOC is due to the fact, the bankrupt company that the Qs came from is withholding the log books for whatever reason, so Transport won't go forward until they see the books. Anyone else hear this? This is absolutely correct! The planes were seized illegally an...
