I suppose it could be a quick stepping stone for a captain wanting/needing a 737 type rating and/or Jet PIC to go overseas for a job which pays exponentially more....but yes not much incentive. Let’s just hope the ties/epaulettes aren’t pink.

I actually find it concerning that someone would do a trip like this and simply run out of fuel. 172 fuel gauges are not reliable.

After 8 hours I'd get up pop the door blow the shoot and get the f*ck off that airplane. This is ridiculous and there are simply no excuses to keep pax onboard a plane that long on the ground.
