Re: Mounting Wooden Propeller
About 3 years ago I had the same task, with almost an 8' prop., found the same webpage, and copied those plans. Made the hub about 1/2" smaller than the prop hub (to hide it) and used 6 dowels (2 with the split screw locks). I painted the edges of the 3/4" plywood with the same paint as the wall and...

fxyz, Check your PM. In summary, what you are describing, as everyone above has mentioned, is unacceptable--full stop, no exceptions. Jason Rule, Transport Canada,

Forsale DC Headset, 2 Place Intercom, PTT, YVR
David Clark Headset. I don't know the model number but I would guess it's a 10-30. Its about 20 years old. The mic was replaced just before we quit using it 15 years ago. It has volume control. I just tested it (as best I could) and it works fine. Its in good used condition. Asking $49. Telex PC 2 U...

Re: The Air Academy
I've been there... The sim is great. I know 2 guys who have done their renewals there. Thinking of using them this year for annual reviews and cutting some plane time.

Re: How's Cooking Lake these days?
About as different as you can imagine, and for the much better! I would call Cooking Lake the 'Sleeping Giant' of Alberta flight training. New owners, new airplanes, new ideas, etc. Its worth a drive out, IMHO.

Re: YBW-Springbank Airport In Jeopardy
According to Transport Canada 2 weeks ago. CYBW is now number 6, up from number 7, most busy airport in Canada. Based on movements. There are plans to make parallel runways of 16/34. They are going to start more hangars west and north of the current runways. There is a lot of people with a lot of mo...

Go teach in the sim. Most 'newer' instructors want to avoid the sim to get the flying hours. You can come in, do the sim work, make guaranteeded dollars, and it has no effect on your duty time. From what I understand, if you are using your commercial license, for hire or reward, all the time countrs...

NavCanada called me the next day. They said it was sent regestered because it was printed late and they wanted to ensure I got them before the effective date. In the future, it will be regular mail... Fair enough. Kinda funny that I got them a week later because I did not have time to get them from ...

NavCanada CAPs Monthly subscription
Ok... So for the last many years, I get my monthly CAPs in the mail... All good. A few days ago, I get a delivery notice from Fedex saying there was a delivery which I was not home for. Today I drive to the 'local' Fedex (read, 90 minutes round trip, 2 dollars in parking)(convient to, open Monday to...

I've been talking to TC Medical office about this... and they have been very helpful and nice... I wrote a letter to Collectcorp. With it my proof of payment from 6 months prior. I faxed it to them so they have it in writing. Their fax number is 416-961-2037. After they had all my paper work, I've b...

I know it's stupied question and it was more of a passing thought to us than anything we'd seriously consider... I was wondering about the legality of it. And I agree, without training, lots of practice and skill, and some serious SOP's... a collision is very likly. I've done some basic VFR form and...

I got a call a few days ago from the collection agency. I went and found my bill, my credit card transaction saying I paid it, and finally the reply from Transport Canada that my accound was paid in full. I called TC with this information. I was given a big 'sorry' and a promiss that my credit colle...
