Have to love the pics in the story.
If that is what an ATR looks like up front, I guess Beech now makes them.
Looks like Air Tindi's 1900.

Re: Bradley Twin Otter Pictures
The picture of the twin with the Ice Breaker in the back ground was taken off Cape Herschel. That is NNW of Grise Fiord. The pic in the snow was Capt Karl Zberg using the great De-ice equip that the twin was equiped with at the drill site Eclipse. If my info is correct that site was about 5 min from...

Re: Lost Plane near YTH ~ YOH
It is that easy when things are going good, but it sure sounded like he was very very stressed out and not exactly thinking straight. We only caught the tail end of his situation, He said he knew he had some sort of issue with the GPS as he was arriving in YQD as it did not take him direct to the ai...

Re: Child Seats for Aircraft
I am not sure what your question was exactly, but If the company has room on the plane beside you, you can use a regular car seat (as long as it is airline approved) or depending on the size of your child you can go with this http://www.kidsflysafe.com/ It seems to be getting great reviews and you d...

It seems like there is no routine being taught to these students now.... I went to school there back in 95 96 and we were taught to DIP the tanks every time you got into the plane. Each and every plane had a dip stick and it was required if not inforced that you dip the tanks anytime you ordered gas...

I have been reading all these comments from the guys at the majors complaining about not getting thanked for giving up an empty seat. Well, I admit I have used this service twice now and I am very greatful for the opportunity to use it. On both occasions I made sure that I went up and expressed my g...

Re: Children
Another one is to try and have a bottle or a soother for them.
This will keep them sucking and reduce the pressure in there ears (it is just like chewing gum for the little ones).
I heard of a crash awhile back and the only survivor was the baby that was in its normal car seat.
Hope that helps.

PD The company I work for is represented by ALPA. We do have guys that are not in good standing (eg. they do not pay monthly dues). Even though they are not in good standing they still recieve the same benifits as all the other pilots within the company. The only time that they do not is when the pi...

The best part of that airport, is the highway that runs right by it.
If he couldn't have made the strip, the highway is nice and straight. It does have some hills though.

Try this:
https://www.gleim.com/aviation/online/crogs/
I know a couple people that have used this with no problems on the exam.
The thing is that once you have gone through a section and it is closed. You CANNOT re-open it.
Have fun.

Your licence will just show the type
But some examiners will put weather it was a Capt or FO ride on your PPC card.

OH ya
If you are getting gas, DON'T leave your machine there after fueling.
Some of the guys can get very grumpy.
Move it then unload.
Have fun - black fly season should be upon u now

Re: Baker Lake
Baker is the Geographical center of Canada and they have a sign beside the inukshuk just south of the airport. If coming from town go just past the airport and you will find it. Fishing at night is usually good. Make sure you get a license or get a fine. Not a whole lot to do otherwise. Gas was 2.60...

Since it was two F.O's and one captain drinking, what happened to the Captain that took off in the morning knowing that THE F.O. had been drinking? Where was the command decision to delay the flight for that whole .5 of an hour to make it legal. Instead the captain tried to get them all fired when t...

I must agree, The 3-5 mile finals sure beat the hell out of the 10-20 miles that we seem to get from some of the others (even when it is not busy). We were coming in the other night about 3-4 miles behind a metro, our company was about 2-3 behind us and then there was a line up behind them. I am pre...

its still up to the PIC to make sure the A/C has enough fuel to make it to your destination I agree that the PIC is responsible, but when you get the greenest 1000 hr drivers as the CAPT, they (MGT) are pressuring and threatening these guys with demotion or there jobs. For a fact they demoted a guy...
