Re: Westjet. The new PML to Air Canada!
I say we hire every wje/wja pilot that has applied right now even if they are not on course for 6 months. Payback for the years they robbed our regionals.

Re: Pension
There is a problem with DC's that no one is talking about. They will be reduced to make profits today, but as the individual ages, and the DC pension wont cover his retirement, they will work longer. They work longer at a higher pay scale. Over time the DC will be more expensive because not enough w...

Re: Jazz or Encore?
250 guys at encore and 18 last year and maybe 20 this year flow, that's still 10 years to move to westjet and start at year one pay is not much of a promise at all. Things change faster than that in this industry, so I would not put too much in the future if its 10 years out. Pick the job that will ...

Jazz might be a good bet. Something cooking here at AC involving NB fleet, rumor is that it includes Jazz, should hear by the end of September if it works out. Bad for AC good for Jazz.

They have 100 pilots, 4 people flow so far, I don't know if you will see them all at mainline in 3 years.

Re: WJ pilots reject tentative agreement
Buddy of mine says things are getting ugly there, WestJet union supporters are being locked out of WJPA websites, No one is allowed to discuss the old TA. Bet that didn't happen 5 years ago.. Good luck guys and gals, we all support ya!
Re: WPPA.ca
Best thing that can happen for this union is a yes vote. It will send all the no voters straight ahead for certification. The actual language will be different form what the "yes" voters think they voted on and it will take a small percentage to be swayed to get 50% +1. Is it too early to welcome We...

Re: Addressing all ALPA Canada MECs on FLVCs
If you are an alpa member, go to your next meeting. Make a motion to recall any member that did not support Gilles position. Bring a friend and to second it. Play the game, remind the MEC's that they represent the people and not the easiest path to management. As an ALPA member, you have the respons...

Great work Gilles. Your tireless campaign to keep Canadians in Canada and working has produced 40-50 pilots here. I could not do what you do every day, and I am in awe at your dedication. If I am ever lucky enough to meet you, the drinks are on me. Great work.

There is an airport hotel in Toronto that is trying to figure out how to fill an extra 30 rooms a night now that westjet wont be there. Great news westjetters. There are a lot of central and east families that will be happy to see their loved ones a whole lot more.

Someone with some real insight wrote this about this time last year; Dec 27th. The only thing an MP understands is popular opinion/re-election. This Anti union attitude can only be stopped by union membership motivating the MP's. Its realy the only way. Our negotiators are powerless against the gove...

Things have changed, 50 years ago if a union busting group tried to take jobs away we would throw stones and hurl insults. We have evolved. Everyone has the right to work for whoever they want, but we need to find a way to still 'motivate' the people that try to take our lively hood away. These peop...

Snowball, sorry you were layed off. It does happen in this industry, wife and kids, tough. Sky regional is a plague, the people that work there are the reason that the plague is getting worse. if you were a union employee and enjoyed a career and pension earned by your union family, and then leave to work for a non union shop, you have turned you back on your union family. If you set your...

from 204 aircraft to: Air canada, 777 (16), A330 (8), Airbus (46) = 70 LCC 767 (30), Airbus (40) = 70 EMB gone, when the dust settles (in years when all the planes are where they are expected to be) we will have 700 less pilots. This is the worst thing that could have happened to my profession. To a...

I hope you all take a couple minutes to read the 17 page report, piche says a couple times that the decision is based on the limitations of the bill and not normal for this type of arbitrator. He mentions that usualy the ability to pay is not a concideration, however it is in this case. The arbitrat...
