Are you meaning the "Co-Pilot" software for the Palm? http://lauriedavis9.tripod.com/copilot/ I use this one all the time. Find it to be quite accurate for the weight and balances, easy to compute time to alternates should company re-route your whole day. Nice quick way to give an answer on the go a...

Just to put in my two cents as well. As mentioned earlier, many times each plane will have it's own kinks. I've flown 3 King Air A100's. On 2 of them, if you pulled the power to idle, the props disk and the plane drops out of the sky (both 3 and 4 bladed props). On the other one you could pull the p...

Some good advice there. Far too many people are relying on a GPS as their only source of navigation, and as posted above, when the batteries go dead, or the cable was forgotten, they can get themselves into big trouble. More and more students are even investing in a GPS to do their X-country flight ...

Options #1 as stated above; in my opinion, total crap. I don't know where I've heard it, and I'm probably going to put my foot in my mouth here, but it is up to the company to provide the required training for each position. When one starts an aviation career, I don't know of many flight schools whi...
TooLow_Flaps: Very educational, thanks for the help! As was mentioned in the General Forum (and using Air Canada for the example): Tier 1: Mainline Carrier (Air Canada) Tier 2: Fully or partly owned regional carrier (Jazz) Tier 3: Everyone else that has some sort of code share or service agreement (...
Tier 3?
Could someone please give a definition of what tier 3 is? It was sort of explained in the General Forum, but just what defines if an airline is tier 3?

As mentioned above the MKI had the P&W 450 HP Jr. Wasp engine. The MkII had the same frame but an inch shorter and a 550 hp Alvix Leonides 502 engine. Only one MkII was built and later converted to have the Jr. Wasp engine. The MkIII is the Turbo Beaver, but not to be confused with the turbine conve...

I've got mixed feelings on this topic, both with buying Beaver time and those offered "Bush" courses. I agree with Water Wings. If your heart is into the float flying thing and you have the money to spare, go for it. A little bit on this machine, and little bit on that, it all chocks up to experienc...
