Re: Who will bid the A220?

Has anyone heard/calculated out what the Captain pay on the A220 will be? With weight the biggest calc factor.... somewhere between the 737 Max and EMJ.

EMJ
Day 149 day / 168 night
737
Day 180 day / 206/night

A220

165 day / 185 night ??

Some good ideas for merging being posted, that's refreshing to see. Need some quants to create some merging models with multiple variables and weightings, make some assumptions and run them. Then take each of variables/weightings to their extremes and find the optimal outcomes for each of the groups...

Re: AC offer AT $13 per share

So many ways to slice it but DOH appears to be the fairest solution with some fences as others have mentioned before. What could be some of the 'fences' that could result with a merge? Maybe its DOH but unable to bid outside of AT equipment for AT pilots and visa versa for AC pilots the first two ye...

If the wording in this message means anything Air Transat could remain its own brand/operation for the foreseeable future at least and no merge short term. 1. By connecting Transat to our own network 2. ....adding Transat services to our network would create new North American market opportunities ....

What's everyone's guess on the most likely direction or outcome of this merger if successful regarding the brand of AT.... keep the AT brand/image and just own/operate..... or ditch the Brand merge...replace by just AC..... or create new internal vacation brand like using AC Vacations .... or Rouge ...

Re: When do you think the 737 MAX will return to operation at Air Canada?

We have all heard of Ethiopian Air and Lion Air + families suing Boeing but I haven't seen any mention of Airlines queuing up to get a piece of boeing after all the down time, lost sales, lost labor/resources, bad faith, etc. etc. ... Once the grounding order is lifted and airlines are able to asses...

Re: Why does everyone want to work at Air Canada?

I posted this a year or so ago on OTS thread First Jan 2018 GS had the following composition roughly - I'm guessing the WJ,SW,TA components vary a little school to school but not much, the only larger employer missing was Cargojet - 3 porter - 1 corporate - 5 Encore - 1 WJ - 15 Jazz - 2 Air Transat ...

payrates.JPG I think there are 2-3 WJ (not including Encore), SW and TA pilots in every AC ground school but barely any leaving AC - The WJ/SW/TA ones that I have spoken with say that it's the potential of greater pay/pension and greater job security that attracts them to AC. It's not how you start...
