Re: AME Work Schedules
I work at AC, I am on a 4x4 sched. 4 days on then 4 days off. I have been doing this for over 20 years, I do not think I could go back to a Monday to Friday routine. I truly enjoy my 4 days off

Re: Arbitrator sides with the company for machinists CBA
Rockie, What we don't need are pilots claiming that they know how to run an airline. The days of MacGregor and McConachie are gone. Fact is that AC had $600M in the bank in 2009 and now has $2.2B. Our costs have been slashed yet I am making more money today than I was then even though I haven't mov...

Re: Arbitrator sides with the company for machinists CBA
Vote with your feet, Doc! This company could care less if you quit, I quit, we all quit, there is plenty of work around for both of our groups. The Office Monkeys can Fly and Fix the Airplanes. Unfortunately at 51 I am a whore to my pension, but had i been late 30's or early 40, it would be the big...

Re: Arbitrator sides with the company for machinists CBA
I hope you all take a couple minutes to read the 17 page report, piche says a couple times that the decision is based on the limitations of the bill and not normal for this type of arbitrator. He mentions that usualy the ability to pay is not a concideration, however it is in this case. The arbitra...

Re: Walk Away
The historical issues aside I would say yes. Both the IAM and ACPA have made it abundantly clear to everyone that they believe the present process illegal. They have both challenged the B2W legislation in court. They will likely both launch injunctions when they feel the timing is best attempting t...

I could have posted this on any of the last threads durind the previous 6 months but here goes You people, pilots in particular, are the upmost pathetic group of human beings that ever walked upon this part of North America. To think that you will even get 50% of what you hope for is a pipe dream, ...

Do you really believe that? It's easy to say that after the fact.....but a plan as large and as ambitious as that? No way....it was going to be done with or without employee assent!! Regardless, West Jet does take care of its employees and it is reflected in the way they do business. This is a comp...

Again just a guess, but I think Duncan saw the headlight of the CCAA V2.0 express coming down the tracks and decided to step off before it was too late.

The Airline Pilot is the most skilled and highly trained of all the groups involved (Management, Government). This is called narcissistic personality disorder. Get help, you'll be a lot happier once you realize that you too, are a human being. Takes a lot more than balls. What it takes are leaders ...

As part of the settlement we make the Government agree that there will be no fines or reprisals. All it take is balls. Takes a lot more than balls. What it takes are leaders who are prepared to go to jail and a membership thats willing to back them up when push comes to shove. Neither of which exis...

They are not interested in negotiating, they are interested in bullying and taking from the employee groups by any means necessary. 400+ Canadians out of a job today here in London because a company that makes billions in profit a year wanted workers to take a 50% paycut. They were never even inter...

Re: Air Canada pilots union: airline has abandoned talks
This was the game plan from the instant Lisa Raitt stated she would legislate the sale agents back to work! AC management knew they had a constant ACE in the hole. They can now drag their feet and in the end let the government impose a contract. What the unions need to do is band together and challe...

Both groups would love to see the airline grow and prosper, but don't expect the pilots to take wage concessions under the delusion that it is their salaries prohibiting the ai...

Re: Mandatory Retirement Repealed!!!
I'm to lazy to read all the topics on this crap. So basically any AC pilot can fly till they die.. Am I correct on this? If so, wow. Those that do must be realllly financially messed up. I am all for retiring at 65, just like every other airline in the world pretty much. I don't care if you take as...
