Re: Did we reach the next phase of the pilot shortage?
If 1% of the pilot population at any given time are instructors, and therefore it's not worth Jazz hiring them away - then that same 1% is too few to fill the gaping voids at your flight schools. In the hypothetical situation as discussed: It's not worth it to Jazz to double the salary of ALL their...

Re: Career guidance needed!
Can’t comment on the options for overseas re Georgian as far as the 12 hrs goes don’t read too much into that. They are sending 10 pilots a month to Ac right now with 100 committed for the year so they are recruiting hard. If you want to go to AC the Georgian is a no brainer if you don’t want AC the...

There isn't really any answer that appealing.

Agree. The day of a 1900 being a place to park for a while is long gone. Take any company off the list that doesn’t have a quick upgrade to a 705 machine.

Re: Which company would you prefer to fly the B1900 at?
Why move sideways to DEC or move backwards to Encore/Jazz FO when you can move forward? Some people don't want to move, or accept a job where you won't even know where you'll be based. Some pilots don't want to take a pay cut to go 705. Thats why it's a bit of a silly question. The choice is more r...

Re: Which company would you prefer to fly the B1900 at?
The answer to this poll is PASCO, but the real answer should be Air Canada OTS or PML, Westjet Mainline, Air Transat, Sunwing, Sky Regional, Morningstar, or the like. Why move sideways to DEC or move backwards to Encore/Jazz FO when you can move forward? The 704 operator is officially on the endang...

Re: PML reorganization
To put the whole hire outside versus hire express perspective into perspective, here's the reality of the situation and AC is very much aware of this. What is the liability for AC regarding Express New Hires? Footing the bill for replacement at express, and paying for the training at mainline. What...

Re: PML reorganization
Air Canada Express carrier pilots will continue to be compared to their peers at their own carrier, as opposed to being compared to the much larger non-Express carrier pool of applicants. Air Canada will favor those candidates who have stayed with one regional carrier rather than those who switch em...

Re: PML reorganization
So would you be able to apply with say 1.5 years at an exp, and expect to be interviewed when you hit the 2 year mark? I know a few guys on the last PML at various exp who had less than 2 years at the carrier and interviewed around the 2 year mark Yes I think that is the way it works. They want you...

Re: The Air Canada OTS thread
I suppose I am feeling slightly defeated at the moment. I applied long long ago and was put into a pool, (2 years in the pool). I was eventually (finally) given my PIT course date and medical, offered in March 2014; however I had already taken a job with another company and signed a contract. Which...

Re: PML reorganization
Seems like an HR nightmare. What do you tell someone who didn't get hired when they had the same qualifications as their colleague. There's a reason why companies don't tell you why you didn't get the job. It opens a massive can of worms and and even lawsuits. I'm very curious to see if they will p...

Yes it was me, and lots of others. Don’t feel sorry, we’ve helped this game be perpetuated by accepting the position without demanding terms be outlined. In the end I love my job and love my life and am thankful to be providing for my family. It will not cause any delay in the process. Ask for clea...

You should clearify what that means. I don’t think it sets you back in the process at all. Maybe adds another admin step for you but that’s all.

Re: PML reorganization
It’s quite frustrating for the folks who have been in the network for nearly 3 years, have completed the video portion and now have to start all over from scratch. There seems to be little difference between this and OTS except you have to work at an express carrier for 2 years minimum, most of whi...

Re: Questions on Air Georgian CRJ latest interview process
Just don’t go a fail out like Roger 1989 . No one failed no one washed out. People simply care about others and hope they don’t end up working for GGN. It is no longer the much needed stepping stone but rather a last resort or for some a mistake. No one deserves to work for air georgian. I don't kn...

Re: Rouge Growth/Connector Downsizing ?
Old news. This was announced back when Acpa ratified the agreement. I would not read much into it, Jazz has a solid cpa, sky just renewed a 10 year deal announced a few months ago and Georgian just announced a new CPA effective Jan 1 2018. If anything an opportunity for AC to move things Around dome...

Re: Sky Regional VS Porter
Apples and Oranges.... If your goal is AC then hands down Sky. If your sights are set internationally then I agree Jet time is still a pretty big bonus. If you want to make the Regionals a career or even a backstop in case things go south in the next 2 years and you are writing AC off then 100% Por...

Re: Ggn recruiter ad.
According to my former roommate who works there and published by the company in 2017 GGN lost 112 pilots, of which only 17 went to AC. The rest went to Jazz, encore/WJ, SW, Transat, corporate etc... The majority left BEFORE they received a PFO. Once their co-workers started getting PFOs, they figur...

Re: Ggn recruiter ad.
Roger 1989 is correct in my experience. Everybody I know at ggn is there because Jazz/Encore/Sky/other all turned them down. None of them are bitter and ranting avcanada either. They're either patiently waiting for AC, or waiting for the bond to expire so they can apply to Jazz/Encore/Sky/other aga...

You know, you’re asking for the impossible, are you new? I’ll get this party started, you’ve read all the bad posts about them and you’re still interested, you derserve what you get I suppose. Just shut the place down. Just wait it out a few months and you’ll get picked up by a reputable company. Do NOT sign a bond with Air Georgian. :prayer: Why so bitter? georgian has been around for a couple of decades now, I think it’s pretty safe to say they will be staying around. Tell us - did u f...
