Re: Contract flying in the USA
There are a few ways to do this. None of them are easy if you don't already have the right citizenship or background. H1B visa. Employer sponsored. E2 visa. Investor visa. Bring at least $100k USD of at risk money and a solid business plan that will involve hiring American workers. Marry an American...

Re: Bose Proflight
Hey all! 2 flights (9 hours) in a Conquest, and so far so good. ANR on high is excellent, much better than the Clarity Aloft with custom ear molds I was using previously. Spare batteries on hand would be a necessity. I'm considering ear molds for the Proflight as well, but so far, don't see the need...

Re: 2 rescued from Nahanni, Wolverine Air.
To be fair, the original article just said a light plane. I debated putting Wolverine Air at all, but then I decided to include it because there was no doubt they were involved. Also, putting "holy crap!..." wouldn't have added anything to the narrative other than drama and my own license. If I do t...

Haters gonna hate. The problem with quoting the article itself is that it changes as new information comes in. Especially on what is likely a rapidly developing story. I thought I put enough information in the header for you to decide whether you wanted to click on it or not. The link itself should ...

2nd vote for Briggs & Riley. Expensive, but worth it. The last carry on bag you will ever need. Will fit overhead and under most seats.

Re: Aviation Medical in YUL
Dr Rohan is mostly bilingual, enough to be workable. Good doctor, reasonably priced (for Montreal), ECG can be done in his office. Dr Theriault also does FAA Medicals and is very thorough. Another is Dr Pearlman, but he's expensive and I found him to be not so good. Wouldn't go back to him but YMMV....

Check the reviews on Amazon before ordering. In a lot of ways, the D2 Bravo is crippled, especially if you're outside the US.
Hope that helps!

Hi Strega, Yep, was in a 'ho. The strip and ramp were fine, although I guess we could always do with more concrete pads. Not sure how I would have closed my flight plan without having to borrow one of the residents cell phone though. For that matter, not sure how I would have gotten access to the te...

Keystone. Although it remains to be seen how many will be re-hired by whoever buys it out. I'm guessing somewhere in the neighbourhood of 30-40 people (AMEs, pilots, office).

Hi all, Anyone got any recent (within the last week or so) intel on the this strip? Will be doing some survey in and out in the next few days and just wondering as to condition of the strip, specifically, how loose is the gravel and how mushy is the apron? Any gotchas? Is there a terminal building o...

Re: Headset Competition S1 VS Zulu PFX VS AV100 VS A20
If you could get ahold of a Zulu 2, I would recommend that. While the PFX is a great headset, so is the Zulu 2. It's a bit less expensive by a couple of hundread bucks, has almost the same performance, and most of the same features. The control box is about half the size and takes half the number of...
