Re: YVR April 29th assesment.
I attended the assessment on the 29th. The testing was less stressful than I expected, the only portion of the test I am worried about is the audio section. How do you feel it went? She told us the pass/fail for the audio test was something like less then 8 correct, so I was pretty confident after ...

Overall I think i did pretty decent. Twice I fucked up the order of questions and had to re-arrange the scantron shee...

Also, which FIR did you apply? Test for Vancouver was last week and they come here twice a year... So you might not hear anything for a while. I did my online application in early Jan and write the test last week...

I recently wrote the test, and there is not much you can study for besides the w-sim package they give you.

Re: YVR April 29th assesment.
The interviews aren't conducted by a contracted company, at least not in Ontario. I did my telephone interview last Thursday and am waiting for my green light as well. As for who gets through, my understanding is that similar to what you said above, if 8 apply and 4 spots are open then the top scor...

Re: In Person Interview Results Taking a Long Time
Well, I was in the process and had a phone interview scheduled but decided to cancel. I am bilingual, and it seems the odds of having to relocate for a position are high, possibly even to QC. Not that I would have minded personally (I am French Canadian), but my wife has an amazing career here in T...

Re: YVR April 29th assesment.
Yeah I was hoping that I could get into the October course last year. My application expires early next year and I'm really hoping that I'll be able to make it. As far as phone inquiries go, its virtually impossible. Nav Can staff rarely disclose their plans so that you don't get your hopes up. I w...

Re: YVR April 29th assesment.
I'm waiting for an in person interview. I did my assessment July 2013, phone interview August 2013, and I've been waiting ever since. My target is for the VFR stream. So far I know that there were two VFR courses last year, each in February and October. I am not expecting to hear about another VFR ...

Re: YVR April 29th assesment.
They usually update their website for upcoming events: https://takecharge.navcanada.ca/en/content/onthemove/assessments Its interesting that they're keeping this one under the radar. Congrats on the invite though! I'm still waiting for an interview invite. Hopefully this is a sign of movement. Are ...

Re: VFR / IFR Training Success Rate
When I was in my In-Person Interview, the manager said that there was about 25% completion. That is for that particular ACC and stream though, I'd assume. This was for Terminal IFR through Vancouver for YYJ/YVR Thanks. If I make it, I will be in YVR as well.. I am guessing VFR stream has higher per...

VFR / IFR Training Success Rate
I know there are no published numbers but I am wondering what are the approximate success rates for both IFR and VFR controller courses? For IFR, I heard 10% success rate.

What is the difference between AI and ATC pay scale?
What is annual ATC Premium?
Thanks
