I think the way TC is going these days is that for an Operater the person will be known as a Maintenance Manager and for an AMO the person will be known as a PRM. Just what I heard

If you are interested and have some natural ability then go for the AME thing but if you are only doing it to try and get your foot in the door then forget it. I am a pilot/ame and it has been my experience that it doesn't really matter what qualifications you have. All they want these days is experience!! Pretty hard to get when noone wants to give it to you! If you have the experience, be in the right place at the right time.
