Re: Air Canada and Transat announce Increased Purchase Price to $18 per Share

Haha no animosity on my side. This is avcanada.

We can be friends if you help me decide what to do with my TRZ shares. I bought them at 8$ 2 weeks ago. Whatever I do the market always does the opposite.

Re: Air Canada and Transat announce Increased Purchase Price to $18 per Share

I wasn't trying to say that pilots in the middle east or asia are superior....in no way at all. But you have to recognize that their whole process is much more intense and last days going through psychometric tests, sims, interviews, group exercises. Getting a job in Canada has more to do with havin...

Re: Air Canada and Transat announce Increased Purchase Price to $18 per Share

It is childish for pilots to attack each other just because they don't work at the same airline. Anyone who has gone through a pilot selection in the Middle East or Asia knows that pilot selection and interviews in Canada are a joke. We all are at our respective employers because we were at the righ...

Re: Air Canada and Transat announce Increased Purchase Price to $18 per Share

If they have been there 20 years and are close to retiring wouldn't they have a reasonably large pension earned by now? Why not just retire and ride into the sunset? I’ve been there 24 years, of which 22 as a captain, always on widebody A/C, I’m 56 and have been through 4 layoffs during my career i...

Re: Who's gotten a lay off?

People say that this crisis is temporary and that once things pick up, it will be better than before or at least back to normal. This is simply not true. It will take a very long time for the economy to wake up once the virus stops spreading.

I’m sorry to tell you that 98% of your good friends coworkers (and likely him) share this board’s sentiment about protecting our own jobs and livelihoods first and foremost. No one wants anyone to have a bad career but we are not willing to sacrifice our own well being for the Transat pilots. If th...

I'm curious, what is so bad about the body scanner? The people that sell the scanners, the authorities that want you to pass through the scanners and the people who work right next to the scanners all say that they are safe. Do you trust them? Screw that. I always asked for the pat down. Privacy. A...

Re: The Air Canada OTS thread

I'm in a tough situation. Been waiting for AC to respond back from my interview for 5 months and recently got another offer better than my current job at Express. If I got accepted at AC I would still go there over the other offer but I also want to be honest to the other company. Does anyone have ...

Very sad....chances are this is going to be another MH370 situation where the US and Iran will accuse each other of shooting down the airliner (if it was shot down).

If you bring too much liquid, the TSA confiscates it and throws it away, in case it's a bomb. So they throw it away, in case it's a bomb, in the garbage can right next to them. With all the other possible bombs, in the area with the most amount of people.

I am not AC, not TS. I get habslover intent to be funny and upset some of the folks not happy about this at AC. However, I must say you have to be pretty stupid, if not retarted, to waste so much time typing these posts. Some might find it funny, as I did when I read the first one, but I think now y...

Re: Encore, then Jazz?

Just don't job hop shortly after starting. It would be another low blow to the whole industry to read a thread about Encore starting a bond. Maybe it will push companies like Encore and Jazz to implement a nice retention bonus instead. Keep your moral lessons to yourself. Hilroy: Do what is best fo...

So...why does Air Canada tell every interview candidate they will have a decision in 4-6 weeks? They never tell anyone within this time frame. Its usually more like 3 months from people I know. I realize a few weeks over a 30 year career isn't a big deal, but why not just be honest instead of raisi...

As for the poster who left or is leaving after a short stay at Jazz, who could blame you. Would it have been better if you had received the offer at Sunwing before you came to Jazz, sure but that wasn’t the case. I have long advocated for pilots to not accept the job, I also think if more pilots co...

Some folks are happy at SR, some are not. Some are happy at Jazz, some are not. Same goes for every company. If you are not happy, then leave. Do what is best for you. This is strictly business and I wouldn't give a damn about a company training me and seeing me leave 2 weeks later if I find a bette...

Very well said! Thanks for your post bro. Hey Tbaylx, Enough with the cavalier attitude. Every time we here that disgusting call sign on the radio we all die inside. My "jumpseat" will never be open to the "26".
