Wow! That would mean ~350 opened spots from now to the end of 2018?

A bid is a 12 month snapshot. 235 for next June.

So those hours all single piston VFR and no degree you don't have to worry about going to Porter or 'The Show' for awhile. When you get 1000 hours multi IFR turbine the bent wing when you first started out will be a far distant memory, I've flown with people that have far greater marks on their reco...

How will hiring outside of the experienced jet captains and airline pilots they are currently getting from Sky, GGN and Jazz help the training crunch? Seems like AC is pretty happy with the way this is shaping up?

Re: Travel coordinator scam on the job ads.

Your website is a joke and no one will pay $3200 a month for a part time stay at home job. What your describing is one the most common scams out here today and relies on the lag in the check clearing system to work. You will send off a cheque for 2900, tell some poor sob to keep $400 and wire the re...

Travel coordinator scam on the job ads.

The travel coordinator ad is a scam. They will send you a money order or cheque for just under $3000 from a small legitimate credit union or bank (because the banks put a hold on chequer over 3k) and direct you to send the money via western union to their 'vendors'. By the time the cheque bounces ba...

Re: Jacksons in Manitoba

Shaun Jackson owns Adventure Air in Lac Du bonnet. They did the maint on a 206 that is owned by an Auto Parts guy in MB. The owner piled it into a golf course a couple years ago, case of too much air in the tanks if I recall but they rebuilt it. I'd be pretty surprised if he got a Twin Otter, maybe ...

Bikes Yes, golf clubs no.
then you need to find a place to stow it,
Any airplane swaps would require lugging a bike around as well.

Re: 2016 Course Dates and Positions

My completely unqualified theory is that they dont want to gut Jazz fully so they will probably end up with a number close to the contractual minimum. We will never know how people interview behind closed doors but some really good people got PFOd in a row the last round. PFOing also keeps the numbe...

Re: 2016 Course Dates and Positions

The last union release suggested about 111 PFOs so far. Thats about 30% of the interviewees.
They are obligated to take 495 out of 715, which means they can PFO about 30% which is what they seem to be doing.

They were doing it to solicite emails from Skyregional and Georgian pilots who will be hired to fill the 20% OTS quota untill their PML is officially kicked off at the end of the Jazz PML in approx 2018.
It went out in an email to those pilot groups 2 months ago.

The article says they launched a 200 at 2:30 am which is 1 hour after intial call. That sounds about right 15 minutes for Health to contact an operator and 45 minutes to launch a crew from sleep to airborne. The jet couldn't land and they dispatched the next best thing. Sounds like an unfortunate si...
