Re: 50 Q400 at WJ being farmed out

What about the new pilots already at WestJet? I hope the WJPA has some nuts on this one. WJ is a top notch company with top notch pilots. A company representing WJ deserves the same just as Jazz is to AC. Please be aware that in the late 90's when you paid substandard wages to your pilots, you were ...

Re: Dear Greg

Agreed. There's no doubt that WJA Ltd. will benefit greatly from the efficiencies of Q400's. The bottom 80% of WJ pilots (sorry newest 800 team members), not so much. I'm confident most WestJetters are on board which is going to make the pilot group rather unpopular if they choose not to embrace it....

Re: Air Canada's Questionable Hiring Process.

Cookie - I'm sure the skippers at Air Canada would love to hear all about how smart you are on a four day pairing. I can tell you the difference between my Degree program and a college aviation program - I got to drink beer and chase tail for 2 more years! Oh and my degree is bigger and has a nice g...

Re: Air Canada Interviews

Well then if there were ZERO Jazz pilots hired between February and June that would imply that ZERO OTS pilots were hired as well (ceteris peribus), which was clearly not the case. All I'm stating is that there is a trend, coincidence or not. Not intending to hijack the thread, just trying to give h...

Re: Air Canada Interviews

Seems like the flood gates are opening for the Jazz drivers. Good to see after they got snubbed for so long. Good luck to those waiting. It's an exciting time to be joining. Never happened. Urban myth. The ratio of Jazz applicants that were accepted compared to OTS was the same. Really, you seem pr...

Re: Air Canada Interviews

I know of a small handful who got the call this week for Sep 26. All had university/aviation college, 3500+, mpic, 705. Two interviewed in late spring, one in July. There will be 20 a month, except December, until at least May. Seems like YVR and YUL will be available for some new hires right off th...

Re: Air Canada Interviews

Contacted for interview by email. I got about a weeks notice and they gave several options for interview slots. Did a medical soon after (phone call). I would like to know how many people have gotten the dreaded letter after doing a medical? Been a few weeks and still waiting to hear. Rumour has it ...
