Hey I received your PM.
Have you tried out the practice tests on the websites?

I'm sure you already have, but here is the link anyways: http://www.bcit.ca/tlc/pretest/samples.shtml

The Best Thing To Do When Considering a Pilot License

A FAM Flight (Familiarization Flight) is essentially a taste of being a pilot. It is a discounted flight lesson/experience that lasts for about 30 minutes to 1 hour. Before you get your flight training at a flight school, it is important that you get a taste of the real thing. And nowadays, flight s...

Re: BCIT Airline and Flight Operations : Commercial Pilot

Hey Big Piston, By job ready, I mainly meant that it is designed specifically to graduate students completely and ready and qualified for pilot employment. It is structured so that you graduate with a Private Pilot Licence (PPL), Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL), Multi Engine Rating, Instrument Flight...

Re: BCIT Airline and Flight Operations : Commercial Pilot

I graduated from this program 4 years ago and I loved it. Although I agree that the ideal route is to get a degree at the best university you can studying what you want (not necessarily aviation) and getting your pilot licensing at a flight school. I can't say for other aviation diplomas but BCIT's ...

Re: Looking to change careers.

It's funny how as students/prospective students we imagine that a younger age make it easier for us to be hired. If you're ~40 years old, it's common for you to think that the younger 20-30 year old applicants will stand a better chance than you do. But if you look at it from an employer's point of ...

They may be allowed to fly, but think of the passengers. Would you feel comfortable putting your child or your mother on a plane if you knew the pilot was being treated for depression?

Re: Advice on resuming my PPL...

I suggest you purchase a recommended flight simulator during your pilot training. Simulators are a great tool when you actually start taking lessons, especially when just starting out. It is difficult to book lessons/flights every single day when training at a flight school. Simulators will allow yo...

Re: PRIVATE PILOT LICENCE WRITTEN

Sorry to hear that you didn't pass the exam on your first try.
No worries though, many people are unable to get it in one try.

I agree with bverwegen...study to become an expert on the material, and not mainly for the sake of passing and getting your license.

Re: Landing that first job

Road trips are good, but if you can't make it to some areas and want to have a similar effect...

I suggest video resumes. Send them a video about yourself and your training, and it allows them to
see you on a more personal level and stands you out from the crowd of other applicants.

You forgot to mention the right to work in Canada. A student visa may allow limited employment and you should look into it. If you or your employer gets caught without the proper paper work, you will most likely be deported and ban from coming back. Not trying to scare you but it's something you sh...

Re: From High School to the Cockpit

Of course getting the PPL during high school is a huge advantage. First, you could begin your CPL training right away after graduation. Second, in senior year of high school is when students begin to explore career paths and schools. If you were to do and complete the PPl training before graduating,...

It's like asking...I have a master's degree in physics and planning on working as physicist. Should I convert my master's degree before I look for a job or just use my bachelor's to find a job?

Obviously get your ATPL because the difference in your job prospects will be enormous.

Wow I can't believe all of the negative comments about Brampton. I doubt all of you have personally experienced these things, but perhaps they are from something you have heard or read.

The people who have personally visited Brampton seem to have nothing but good things to say about them.
