Re: Small plane crash near Kenora.
So sorry to hear about this accident. A very experienced bush pilot and Cub driver tragically taken. My thoughts and sympathies are with his family, and best wishes for a full recovery for the injured.

Re: Should I stay or should I go?
I'm not interested in living over seas myself. And flying a domestic schedule on a 37 in China doesn't leave you much time to visit home. Ever thought about going back to one of those well paying King Air gigs that get you home every night, keep you in one time zone for the most part, flying a much ...

Re: WESTJET PILOT FATIGUE
Bobcaygeon, What do you do for a living? Seriously, are you a pilot because you clearly have no clue about airline ops. I guarantee that any given month of 85 credit hours I am on duty for at least 160 hrs, that's credit hours, when the door is closed and park brake off. Unless you're doing long ha...

Re: Flight Deck Visit
For the love of Jebus, not more Timbits! I can't speak for everyone, but im gonna offload the next person who brings those things as a gift for the crew. In all seriousness though, there's no bribery required. Happy to have folks pop to say hello, give a flight deck tour to kids of all ages, and get...

Re: Dumping outbase maintenance
Gregg and team continue to pay lip service culture, whilest behind the scenes they not so quietly or secretively dismantle the frame work that up until about two years ago, made this company such an awesome, desirable place to work. Have you guys been in touch with the WJPA at all? I'd be surprised ...

Re: Missing north of Peterborough
Listening to this develop on guard last night, I was under the impression that they were on the return flight to Buttonville, lost, and low on fuel. A bit difficult to understand though, as his voice was panicked and English didn't seem to be the pilots native language. Kudos to the AC crew who were...
Re: item
Glad you enjoyed your flights. An 0645 departure, you may have sampled the crews special double brew. One coffee pouch in the basket, another in the pot. I could be sent for reprogramming for sharing that little secret, so if you request it on a future flight, best to whisper it in your FA's ear.

Re: DC-3 Howey Bay Red Lake
Been enjoying your photos. Thanks for posting them. There's book out called OCA The Kenora Years. If you haven't had the chance, it's a worthwhile read. Lots of great stories about Rex, Barney, Rollie, Kuby, and many others. I picked up my copy at the Kenora museum, but you can search it online and ...

Re: WJ pilots reject tentative agreement
Turn the clock back five and a half years to when we last negotiated an agreement and you'll see a near mirror image of where we stand today. Or you would if that vote had not been suspended after 27% of the pilot group had cast their ballot. Things got fixed then, and we ended up with a mutually be...

Re: Encore interview process
I don't think the gap is as wide as you think when you look at it from where most people are coming from. Either or will result in a 40-50 plus percent pay cut. Is that fair, and how reflective is it of the experience you bring? This is the one industry where that experience doesn't translate to bet...

Re: Encore interview process
JAZZ ? same as encore maybe you should do a little more research before you spout non sense. I had no idea that extra few thousand that Jazz doles out above Encores abysmal salary had sent the pitiful starting and early years compensation of Jazz on a rocket ride up the respectability scale to medi...

Re: Would you work at Encore?
You say your friend was here for a walk through and was railroaded into an Encore interview. A walk through is not a formal interview, and an interview is not the same thing as an informal sit down with DaveP or one of the other big wigs during a walk through. Anyone I've taken for a walk through re...

Perry looks so very familiar. He did a part of his apprenticeship at Walsten Air Service, didn't he? If there are plans in the works for a memorial at KBA HQ or any place else in the Calgary area, please post the details on AvCan.

Re: Plane missing in Antarctica
Thanks for posting Bob's bio Sulako. I'm sure when he wrote those words he never imagined they would serve as a beautiful eulogy to a life tragically cut short, but certainly well lived. Bob never would of cut it as an airline pilot. His wander lust was too strong. And he has an impressive collectio...

From the desk of S.P. on the 21st at 12:45. Perhaps you deleted it since it shared the same title as two previous Encore memo's?7thirtyseven wrote:Bede, sorry dude I looked cant find. No numbers in any email etc from Ferio or DaveP. Perhaps DaveP has been filtering my mail for me?

Re: Jobs at ORNGE
I don't really see whats that bad, aside from the political BS that going on in the upstairs departments. Don't work there, but looking from the outside, its still got a lot going for it. The government is in to deep to just make this 'go away', it would just cost to much, and wouldn't get their mo...
