Re: Ground school canceled

Hi everyone! Just looking for advice here. I got the email from Jazz a while ago that I completed the process to be hired and I would be waiting in the pool. I further received another email telling me I was hired and was assigned the April 13th ground school. I gave my 2 weeks to my employer and d...

How many pilots does Sunwing have?

I only have to think AC/Express will have to closely follow suit.

This is going to be a staggering number of people out of work. :(
Is that just pilots? Or are f/a's and others included in that number?

Re: DEC

I am really curious about this. Why is it that companies don't offer guaranteed seats to their commuters? Would it piss off those who moved to live in their base city? Is it too expensive? I hear that the commuting policy is great at Jazz anyway but wouldn't guaranteeing those commuters seats save ...

Re: DEC

Add some virtual (or better yet, real ones) bases, so people can live in CYQT, CYWG, CYOW etc. They would have much more applicants. For an airline, adding some confirmed seats on the planes should not be excessively expensive. I am really curious about this. Why is it that companies don't offer gu...

If they did end up going airbus for more NB's, could they switch the Max's to rouge to avoid 3 NB types at mainline? Max at rouge and 320s and 220s at mainline?

Re: Tailwheel Instruction near Toronto

Hello Does anyone know of places to get tailwheel instruction other than Brampton and Rockliffe. I’m not looking to do the entire course, just to log a few dual hours for the experience. The other forums regarding tailwheel instruction seem to be outdated as many of the places mentioned don’t offer ...

If they're delisting the stock from the TSX does that mean they'll be paying full pay cheques now instead of paying in stock?

For the pic cross country requirement, I meet the 100 PIC but an short for the additional 100 but have loads of copilot, been flying a dash-8 for 4 years. However my logbook doesn't have a column to log copilot cross country, only PIC or dual. Should I make a new column for this and go back and add ...

On the 737 at WestJet mainline, take home pay varies greatly depending on %ESP you put in.

if you do the full 20% your take home pay WILL be around 2000$/month. It is very sad.
Do you have to participate in the esp? What would the take home be with minimal esp?

Thank you very much for all the quick answers! It is super appreciated! Re: Jazz YHZ Base Rumours

The -100's are going to YYC to cover the ex-ggn 1900 routes. There is a significant amount of Q400 flying into and out of YHZ. The lack of bid and memo that came out said that they were NOT opening a yhz base. Its a lot of work and cost to do that if its not going to last. I wondered what they were...

A job is a job. No harm in taking this job while still applying for other flying positions at the same time. If no one else calls and you end up flying with this company? Great! If you work the ramp for a month and get a flying position somewhere else? Great! In my opinion it's better to have a job ...

Just wondering when this 60% class component of Express candidates for AC PIT course takes effect? The July 22nd class was all OTS, so clearly not yet. Just curious. Thanks.
It's 60% annually as far as I know. So they're allowed to do some classes that are all OTS

To be fair, at least AC gives you a few days to figure it out and talk it over with the ones who it’ll affect. Jazz was just a simple “you got 24 hours good luck”, which to me was unexpected. Isn’t the equipment draw at AC day 3? Compared to day 2 at Jazz. And you have lots of time to talk it over ...

How can a company expect you to take a job where you don't find out your base until after the first day of training. That is sketch. You know the bases before you even apply and you know there's a risk of not getting what you want. Don't apply if that's sketch. That's a question they ask in the int...
